Time for another Minecraft bump.  Anyone checked out the devlog lately?  No new stuff, but a nice video showing things in action.

Just another week to go, and then a few days of free time will disappear.

Survival mode does not look very intense. It is pretty much just the regular game except you can die, from what I have seen. Hopefully you can make more dangerous maps.

You have not visited the lava rock cliff maps, have you? Or the floating orbs maps?

 Hell, imagine jump courses now. Out-run the lava behind you courses.

That's because it's ALPHA (did he say beta?  either way..) Survival Mode.
This is in no way all he plans to do with SM..  Hell no.

 Indeed, the only real tension here is the fact that the couple weeks after survival mode is first released he won't be able to test it with the community thanks to vacations.

And you can't eat anything except mushrooms, which you can't grow but there's thousands of them.  And the sound doesn't work.  That's just stupid.

I have to say though, the new caves are really cool, as is the tree destruction thing.  Who else didn't see the crazy bomb people coming?

That's a good idea, but the thing is we might get people that just go on servers and get banned, or grief. Then noone else can go on servers..

Hey, if nobody (nobody who paid for the survival mode test) has gotten back on lately, survival mode has gotten a couple last minute updates.  Namely-

-LOADAN AND SAVAN.  For God's sake, he actually had to be reminded.
-Arrow'd!  (how do u shot arrow? With the undocumented E key!)
-Pigs drop mushrooms when killed.  Notch was just lazy, but it's an awesome angle in itself.  Shroompigs.
-Mobs are harder, better, faster, stronger.

It's genuinely fun now.  You can accomplish stuff (build and save basically), but expect to die OVER AND OVER.
