Signs! Up to four lines of 15 characters each.

I also refined the health bar a bit:

When you get hurt, you’re invulnerable for several seconds. During this time, the health bar flashes, and the amount of damage taken blinks on the health bar, so you can easily see how much damage you got.

When your health is low, the health bar starts shaking. This is slightly annoying, so I might get rid of it, but at least it’s better than the zelda beep. ;)

Minecraft has serious potential. We need a multitude of diverse ranged weapons. FORT WARS! The new slower digging will inhibit my ability to build a network of tunnels so complex that even I can't remember which goes where, however.

2009Considering changing the controls, need feedback.
In the first couple of version of the game, the right mouse button destroyed blocks and the left mouse button built them.

Then I changed to the current toggle system.

Now I’m considering changing it to:

Left mouse button: Use the currently selected item in the inventory.
Right mouse button: Interact with the item hovered in the game world (usually ‘take’ or ‘break’, possibly ‘press’).

So to break a tile, right click it.
To place a tile, select it in the inventory and left click.
To fire an arrow, select your bow and left click.
To press a button, right click it.

Opinions?

interesting, Control scheme'll be different soon, not for long possibly though.

Have you tried placing a block of sand against a cliff that will have it fall into water while underwater yourself? It's lots of fun.

You don't actually have to be underwater for it to work.
