theres a program called "teamviewer" made by Nazisoft, you can use it to control each other's PCs. fortunately, you are both in control, the person whos PC is being contolled moreso, and it is non-permanent, it is only accessed when the program is on your screen. (you also need a password and shit, Fo' Shizzle)

you could use this to do the server-making, that is, if you trust Jaybud Aqizzar?

Nazisoft?  Wow.
Regardless, sounds like a glorified VNC client.
And um, I guess that would work..  I've never really been a fan of VNC, but if it helps...

Yeah, I'm not gonna lie, I'm in over my head here.

Just to make sure I'm screwing up anything too badly, here's what I did.

I unzipped the package you sent me.
I added myself to the Admins list.
I double checked the Properties file, put my name in it, and left Port at 6112.
I run the server program, and take the external url it spits out.
Browser runs everything fine, but the applet says it's failing to connect.

If everything else is supposed to be working right, I can only assume the Port is the problem.  Maybe.

Right.
You'll need to go into your router's settings and forward port 6112 for your computer's IP.
You can usually access your router with http://192.168.1.1, but it depends on the model/brand of router.
Note that 192.168.1.X is internal and will not allow anybody outside your network to connect to your stuff.
The IP you need to forward it for will be similar, but in the hundreds.
Mine is 192.168.1.101 (again, doesn't matter if you know, internal IP)

Huzzah!  After an intelligence insulting crash course in router administration, Aqizzar's Build Server is online!

I'm a little leery about having to leave my computer on with no firewall, but this thing is trashed anyway, so have at folks.  I'll probably have to shut it down once in a while for extended leaves and such, but it's online.

I'm considering starting a new thread, so that the server info will be right in the OP.  That cool with everyone?
