Checking their forums, I have found many interesting succession-esque things going on. So a proposal:

We start a community map around the tombs theme. We each make a tomb in a medium-sized map and eventually we shall have a map filled with the crazy trap and tomb designs only people who have played dwarf fortress can. Who is up for it?

Alright, I'll link to the thread and probably start this by tomorrow.

 Tombs Thread.

Basically, the rules are as follows:
 1. The main goal is to make a tomb. There needs to be something that looks like a coffin for said tomb at the end.
 2. No interfering with other peoples tombs. You can tap into whatever networks they used to transport water and magma, but generally you will need their permission before adding a wing to their tomb or a secret entrance to your own from theirs.
 3. Because of the ability to dig, one must be able to define what is diggable and what is not to ensure flow control. Thus sand and gravel are the only things that can be dug horizontally and tree trunks are the only things that can be dug vertically for hatches and such. The overland can be dug as you want for access. This rule only applies to people exploring the map, builders can do whatever they want.

You have a maximum of two days before the next guy who reserved a spot gets a chance.
You need to register to have the ability to save. Just load the map of the previous guy, make the changes to your own tomb without editing anybody else unless told, and post the new save after saving yourself.

Until somebody makes a hack where most things in infiniminer are server-side instead of client-side, griefers are the only things that shall roam that game.

 Alright, Map.

So you start out in a more or less central position, the remains of an old tower beside you allowing sight to most of the island.

Pointless post so I can monitor this one in my replies.

This looks cool, is fun so far and the developer seems to have got a lot done in the last two weeks.

You should post it on the minecraft forms tomb thread, and use the same map  as the person before you.

Thing is though, we are doing our own challenge. As cool as their thread was, I would like to start our own.

And to Debvon, the idea is to have a crapton of tombs on the same map. So you copy the map of the previous guy, do your tomb on it, save, and share. Still, nifty tomb you have there.

Notch?
The same Notch that was a codeveloper of Wurm Online back when it was in beta?
If so, this could turn out INCREDIBLE.

EDIT: Definitely is.
The forums are Mojang Specifications, which was the company Rolf (sole dev of Wurm now) and Notch made.
EDIT2: I love this.
1337 FPS..  sometimes -- I've seen at least 300 all the time.
As compared to Infiniminer's 50.
Here's my epic tower.
Pics made during construction:

And finally..

And um, as for the tombs with traps idea, we need actual ways of implementing traps, first.  When we can dig everything and death is impossible, there's no trap that actually acts as a trap.

Mine gets at 5 when I have the fog on dense.

The fog improves my FPS.
Also, I found a contradiction for myself - This is maxed map, maxed draw distance.
