There are 3 strongholds per world, although only one of them contains an End Portal. Throwing an Eye of Ender points the direction to the portal, not a stronghold, and pearls don't point towards anything IIRC.

I love the whole very-few-strongholds thing, especially with the eye-homing. It feels much more mystical than if they were everywhere, like abandoned mineshafts. Although I'm not a huge fan of how the eyes occasionally break when you toss them in the air; the only function that really seems to serve is increasing grind.

I'm okay with strongholds being very few, although I hate the fact that they're relatively small.

Would be fun spending at least 30 mins looking for hidden rooms.

What happens if two people go through two different ender portals?

   Don't know really, either its the same setup as with two nether portals or you just end up in the same place. You would have to do it before we know what happens as I don't really ever remember being in a server where they had found multiple strongholds.

Well I don't know anybody who doesn't either do the "Lets survive together!" where they almost never go to the end, and then they always go through the same portal, or they go "Lets just F off in creative/Build stuff in creative!" in which case they never go to the end except for teh lulz.

Also, amazing idea, build a city in the end. (after you slay the dragon unless you can't come back to the end after you kill him)

I don't really care about vanilla additions. Id rather they focused on a proper modding API and sorting out performance issues.

I just think there's pretty much a mod for every conceivable idea so any addition they do will be met with 'the mod is better!'

He said he was working on the modding API. We got half-assed pistons that he couldn't even code as well as the mod that he was blatantly taking the idea from.

To be fair, modders have much less to worry about than the actual devs do. Modders aren't generally concerned with stability, long-term compatibility, avoiding bugs and glitches, keeping the entire game secure, maintaining game balance and the integrity of the initial game's vision, etc.

With that, and all the other things they have to manage when coding, I don't mind the slow pace of development. Also, I'm glad that they're comfortable taking a good fan-mod idea when they see it, and incorporating it with their own code. Better than never doing it just because a fan-made mod did something similar first.

My impression is that Notch is twice as fast jeb, and about half the things he makes are useable.
But half of what Notch does is work with new tech...

It is a pretty damn sexy feature, although I'm trying to think of what it does that pressure plates didn't already do

Should make drop pits a mite easier to make, I'd need to play around with it ingame to actually come up with uses.

   It will depend on how you can lay it. I can't play around with it myself right now as I am fooling around with something else and don't want to stop but if the line can be long then it can do something already that pressure plates can't and thats cover a large area without any complicated wiring. I remember trying to wire a 3 wide piston door so it would open no matter which of the three tiles in front of it you stand on and it took a good bit of wiring which spoiled some other stuff I wanted to do.

Seems pretty pointless, not to mention a far bit more noticeable.
