After abandoned mines features got really stupid and half assed. The only thing I've liked since 1.0 is lamps.

And why is that dirt backyard floating?

The End, it is barren, and houses something one could barely call a boss (also the only one of its kind)

Endermen, picking up blocks. While they're nice, you have to be very creative making that wonderful garden, or else, landscaping beauties go off.

One of the few things I like were the chasms, if only I can make a futuristic tunnel that has a scenic view of the magma river down there.



If Jeb were to implement single-multiplayer, I think he's had the wrong idea after all.

Because the block limit in 1.2 has already been set to that, but somehow, it isn't implemented? Not sure what they really mean, though.

The ID limit is set to that but the rest of the code still thinks the ID limit is the same as it used to be.

Why is everybody hating on the later versions of minecraft?

Sprinting, pistons, villages, tunnels, different types of sandstone, and a thousand other things, and everybody's like,
"I hate the new ones except for this and that"

Tell me what edition to the game made it WORSE than the previous version.

I hate the later versions not because of the ravines, the mines and pistons, but:

Villages - Paths are borked. I'm sorry if that wasn't clarified in the previous post, but yeah, the village gravel roads are almost always unaligned, requiring some work in order to make it not look like crud.

Endermen - Because they pick up blocks? Fortunately, the nerf has significantly lowered the amount of blocks they pick up. Basically, in the old versions, given enough time, endermen could totally level a chunk. Now, they can only destroy mud huts and gardens. Wouldn't be a problem, honestly if they dropped the block they were holding, which is something they don't do.

The End - It was honestly lacking, and the Enderdragon just bumped into you as a means of attack. Would be fun if it had more attacks, but right now, it's more or less a battle of attrition. Oh, and endereggs have no use.

More meta stuff:

Block IDs - Only applicable to people who install mods, but the fact that the ID limit increase is already there, but the game thinks it doesn't exist kind of sucks. Personally, I don't hate this much, but yeah, for mod players, this really limits their own choices.

Current snapshot stuff:

SSP+SMP merge - Oh come on, I don't want to play multiplayer while I singleplayer.

Enderchests - Can only contain one inventory per world, which means that in servers, you can only make 1 mega storage (by this, I mean a warehouse hub, much like a bank), and even then, someone with enderstorage could intercept your item trade to someone else. Don't mind this much, personally.

I don't really care about stuff added from mod. Pistons were done pretty well and balanced.
And I like the SSP-SMP from a programmer's point of view - they only have to implement stuff once.

The 4096 block ID's would've already been implemented if they had used constants rather than literals. And yes, I can't add my 59 mods. But they are there for fun, not necessarily balance. Although I pick mods that don't mess everything up.

I just love that no mod does anywhere near that. Even EE which is the closest has been balanced beyond relief in isolation, when used with other mods it starts to become a bit OP but that makes it more OP. You don't HAVE to make diamonds with it do you?

I'm echoing what newguy said, EXCEPT for the thing about endermen. They're pretty cool, but could use a little code maintenance, which I hope that AI guy does. I was cool right up until 1.9.

I'd remove the endermen from the listing there, if only they dropped the blocks they stole. I mean, dirt is abundant, but not exactly infinite. Gives my obsessive-compulsive attitudes some kind of... rage-y feeling?

Oh, and I like their little cactus-pollination gig.

   Just going to put out there that if a mod was just unbalanced people would not play it because part of Minecraft's fun is in resource gathering. Even if your using EE and don't leave you home it still has inner balance in what it does and it takes time and effort to gather resources even when using passive methods. The reason EE makes diamonds so cheap is because it doesn't, they do cost "less" then they do in a normal game but the difference is that EE has stuff which is to diamonds what diamonds are to other things so its not really making diamonds cost less, it just has new stuff which makes diamonds no longer the end all be all.
