Doesn't seem like swapping to me.

The top part is obviously buying. You buy with those red glassy checkers pieces. You scroll to see what else is for sale.
The bottom part is selling. You put anything in the box, it tells you how many checkers pieces you get.

I didn't mean you had to swap. I probably could have worded it better. Probably just about exactly like you did.

Hopefully this means we'll get some form of quest bones as well, seeing as villagers now have loot to give.

I was going to post my suspicions earlier but I didn't. Now that someone has posted a video, I can see that those suspicions were correct.

Even when using great ideas from modders, Mojang manages to mess it up slightly. The enderchest mod is leagues better.

Yeah, Crappy Gimped End Chests are crappy and gimped. Still, it's not as if the existence of the chests in the game will make the mod cease to exist, so it's still rather neat.

Yeah, I can't remember a single instance in which I wanted to share items with other players spread out all over an SMP map.  I also can't remember ever wishing I could just plop down a chest that is magically filled with new pickaxes and has space to unload some loot.  People would just end up using the chest to steal Endstone from The End without having to kill the dragon or something silly like that.

From what I read, ender chests only have a single inventory, like Terraria's piggy bank and safe? Boo (spoiled by that mod, because that was more practical).

Well I thought the Ender Chests seem neat... `-`

They are nice, but the Ender Chest mod allows you to dye three pads on top of the chest any combination of colours, any Ender Chests which share the same set of colours share an inventory which allows something like 4000 combinations, assuming I remember how to math, which I probably do not.

Just got done testing trading. I thought it was pretty nice.

I found a small desert village where every villager was either buying or selling something, typically only one item was either being bought or sold. I sold some wheat to one villager, and bought some cookies from another.

The feature still needs work though as the variety of what they sell and buy is limited. The village I visited was only buying wheat and wool, and was only selling cookies and iron axes.

Not sure why emeralds were used as the currency. I was hoping for gold to finally have a use beyond decoration and rubbing it onto my body.

EDIT: Just discovered that when you sell/buy something to a villager, he will emit a small purple cloud. After this he will sell/buy more items. I'm going to chain a villager up in my basement and use cheats to buy/sell to him rapidly. Science!
