I've got a question about server hosting,

What sort of computer does it take to host a medium-to-large server? I have one good computer and one or two somewhat average computers lying around, and I was thinking about using one of them to host as a dedicated sort of thing. In addition, what sort of internet connection would be acceptable for this?

A good computer, preferably running a linux distro with a small footprint.

The answer depends entirely on how many people you plan to have in on average. We have a medium spec machine running our minecraft server but we have at most 4-5 people on at any one time. We also have several terraria servers running on the same machine, and it all works quite well.

You're da bomb, forsaken. MultiMC works very well and I haven't had any problems with mod installation, for the most part. Mostly minor things like Optifine and shelves. These will come in handy if I ever get around to my Minecraft LP

I have it working with optifine as well, I just put it last in the order as the .jar install tab lists them in order of install which can be important.

 You did nothing that mod was crap and looked horrible.

 This, on the other hand, looks like sexyfine. One of the few instances of some feature cranked out by the developers being better than anything the modding community could do.

I haven't seen any pictures of it in action so I can't really comment on that, but if it's true then excellent. I hope it will also have lecterns to put the books on and fillable bookcases?

I'm not sore... I wrote the reply then realized this was the vanilla thread and wrote the second bit. I know tone doesn't translate well through text but I thought it would be obvious. When have you seen me be sore about it, and why would I care at all?
