   I did not know there was stuff to help with time lapse videos, I just assumed it would be someone like me floating in space and recording it all then after recording, editing would be done to timelapse it.

Planehacked is hosted on a linux server in my friend's house. There is no monitor nor any graphics card installed on the server. The only way to access it is by SSH, which gives you direct access to the linux terminal.

You could simply take a screen shot every few minutes with a script. There's a couple programs to merge screen shots into video clips.

anyway, my main thought is: can windows users play on it? (I assume it's yes)

I use windows and I can log on Planehacked just fine.

   Okay lets try this again. What PTTG means by saying it has no monitor and can only be accessed by SSH is that the server itself has no screen and the only way to do things with it is by text commands from another computer. What he was trying to get across is that he can't just have the server recording for us and one of us will actually have to be in the server just floating somewhere recording the time lapse video.

   Well yes but after a little research it would have been easier if we could have used the server for it. What we could have done was had Minecraft running on the server playing offline, it still would have been able to connect to the server cause it was the server and it would have allowed who ever would have been the camera man to build as well. I found a nice mod for 1.2.3 which takes screenshots every set amount of time so with that we could have, well here is a video showing what I mean.

right, that mod would *definately* help, and substantially redice the file size, I guess. just need to keep an eye out for the 'javasocketexception errors' and disconnects.

incidentally, how do you fix that javasocketexceptionerror thingy? I find it incredibly annoying. and searching gave me no help.

feel free. I'll start up a new topic about this once a few things are sorted. (e.g. once we have decided how to do the timelapse (Akhier, are you gonna use that mod, or will something else be used?))
