Yeah, thats because its going on and off.
I would reccomend that you attach the tin to a batbox, so you can store your energy when your not using your machines.

That said, just a regular generator generates a lot of energy, and is preferable to using a single solar generator.

Yah, single solar is slooooow as crap. You're way better off building something better. optimally a solar flower should support a large number of simple machines. and ALWAYS use batboxes.

So, to drag this thread screeching back to vanilla minecraft, what do you guys think of all the new changes?

Zombies smashing down doors!
Hot Squidward on Squidward action!
Super rare mob drops!
Spoiler: Engine Overhauls! (click to show/hide)

And so much more!

The next full release is gonna be a huge step up over the last :D

I like the zombie idea. dislike a bit the part about rare drops. I would have preferred trading items out of the thin air with villagers.

but with the exception of diamond, I've everything I need in exceeding quantities even in vanilla.

Do zombies smash all doors down or just wooden ones?
Either way, stop copying Terraria.

nah, elitism isn't a good state of mind. it makes people sound silly, on their silly ideas like terraria having invented the entire trope of door smashing zombies.

To be fair, I never liked the door destruction mechanic in Terraria anyway. It's awesome in Dwarf Fortress, but when you only got two directions it gets stupid
But Minecraft already has creepers to function as the door breaking mob, so why let zombies do it?

this is actually a very good point.

Well, it seems it is indeed low current only, I guess it's an improvement....Now I won't have an absurd amount of tin anymore.....But the macerator sound has gotten even more annoying  :(
Actually you could run solar generators with any kind of wire. Only thing is, that the higher current ones are more lossy. I assume you just put the macerator too far away.

Well, creepers don't really blow up doors on their own, you can be standing face to face with a creeper through a closed door and it wont blow up.

Because zombies don't have any kind of "special" ability going for them. Creepers explode, skeletons are ranged, spiders climb, and zombies just kind of walk at you slowly.

a fitting special ability for zombies would be to spawn en masse on a sort of halloween.

so you add creepers and enderman in the mix, and you have a complex setup from which to plan your defense. in the end, that's what matters: being an interesting game.

if they just want a special ability to trick players on harder modes, they could just add the buldozer mob.

I don't mind zombies breaking doors down, the only time they could possibly be a threat is day 1, and you can just block your door off with dirt if that happens. By the time I hit day 2 I usually have a few stacks of iron and redstone already, so I can make iron doors.

Don't really think you can anymore. Check out the getting started guide on the wiki, it explains the new mechanics.
