A bunch of dwarves did some crazy magical mining, and found an artifact that when taken from its original spot released portals to the End.

If anyone is interested in an easy going survival server I've been hosting one for a couple weeks now and am looking for more players. We have a small dedicated player base, although we tend to be on at different times of the day.

72.218.0.231:25565

We run craftipedia, dwarfforge, lumberjack, noweather, no_grief, permissionsex, ptweaks, simplereserve, spout, treeassist, worldedit, expminer, hawkeye, homespawnplus, LWC, nolagg and a few other plugins. We also have a ranking system where new players need to be authorized by myself in order to play and a reserved slot and access to all block types can be earned. I am unfortunately only on a couple times a week so if I'm not around to auth you shoot me a message on here and I'll set you up.

If this was the wrong place to advertise I apologize but figured it seemed appropriate.

Might work, but it's not my plan. Mine's is more of a "It's a Wonderful Life" story, except with dwarves, explosions, and good-old-fashioned violence.

Could always go for the "dream sequence" kind of thing.

Or something Matrix-y. Like the MC credits already point to.

“Do something!” she whispered, trying to keep her sight on all of them at once.
Basileus clapped his hands once. The Forgotten took a step forward, attracted by the sound.

Yep, PermissionsEX. Same thing I use on my server.

Also, John, I'd reccomend having at least one other person able to promote people besides yourself, since otherwise you haveto do everything yourself and that just gets harder if you have more people.

It's known as the Oppai-Kaiju effect. The islands of Japan generate a sort anti-gravity field, which allows breasts to behave as if in microgravity. It's also what allows Godzilla and friends to become 50 stories tall, and lets ninjas run up the side of a skyscraper.

Yeah, I got burned on the last server I was running by some people I trusted though. We're still looking for people trustworthy enough to play, let alone help me with the administrating duties lol.

the portal actually sends you to the earth's far future where it has been destroyed by vile creatures, and the dragon caused the end or something?

just for (crappy) inspiration.
Nah. The dragon is the creator of another universe and The End is the birth place of that universe. Endermen have been stealing into our reality to steal bits of our world to build their own.

The basic idea is/was that Urist McJewler is a friendless misanthrope who, while falling asleep in his tower-cap bed, wishes that he could be all alone with no-one around to bother him. He wakes up in the Minecraft world, where his gem-cutting-and-setting skills are utterly useless. He learns to survive in this new world and eventually realizes how much he misses fellow dwarves. He then tries to get back.

Like I said previously, I had an explanation for the Nether all ready to go. I just need some way to connect the End to the story, and I have a few ideas. It would require modding the game to a certain degree though, or switching to creative mode to edit landscapes.

It seems to be a massive super long live-stream of people playing Minecraft. I'd drop in, but streaming and my connection don't mix.

Fbxrd, that's the second time a world has gone into a saving chunk crash/freeze after setting up a reactor. I think this time I'll just stick with huge fields of solar - I love the idea of the reactor, but twice in a row is getting suspicious, and I'm not sure I could manage one effectively without checking it all the time anyway (at least not one that isn't more effective than a bunch of basic generators).
