Eloraam has released a new preview of what you can do with the Frame blocks that will be in a near-future Redpower release.

Custom-built quarry using frames.

Frame motors can move frames carrying vast amounts of blocks, including active redpower/redstone mechanisms, chests, furnaces, tubes and other frame motors.  In theory, one could build a moving base that just grazes along the landscape gathering resources.

Ooh, Thaumcraft looks lovely... Seems to be heavily inspired by the Discworld novels, which is a Good Thing. It would fit well with Redpower too, since other than the solar panels the Redpower tech level is pretty Discworldian already.

And it uses Forge, yay!

I've actually found three or four within a couple chunks of my home base. I haven't marked their locations, though, or delved into thaumcraft - too busy learning and re-learning BC and IC.

The Crafting Table mod is nice but a little wonky. It seems to reset the window whenever you craft something, forcing you to either click one thing and then go find it again or craft a whole stack (with shift). The mousewheel also scrolls the window in the opposite direction that I'd expect. It also doesn't play nice when multiple recipes result in the same output - EE conversions are especially bad, but I guess you don't need to carry the stone with you all the time. Would be nice if you could select an item and filter recipes to that.

Would also be nice if you could do that with the Crafting Guide/Book/Thing. You can select an item to filter by picking it out among the recipes, but that requires you find the item in the list of recipes in the first place - something uncommon can take a while, like netherrack . Most others you can find by navigating through shared items/recipes, like sticks -> metals -> machine -> etc.

Now that the Redpower rubber trees have been made toaster compatible, I'm finding them awesome as prebuilt houses, just dig about 20 blocks up through the trunk and carve out a living space

Really need to get reaquainted with all the Technic Pack mods though, been playing vanilla for ages.

Arggh, I can't get past downloading packages. I've looked through everything and no results..Brand new minecraft.exe, deleted my .minecraft folder too and even am doing force update when I start it up. No dice.

Omg.....My new laptop can run it without lag........ I am so happy.
