Just got a saving chunks crash by exiting the Level Up! menu of all things.

EDIT: Apparently level up! is bugged to hell and back and shouldn't be installed. Wait no, it's fine if you leave convinient inventory out maybe? I haven't tried but that's what the thread says. NOPE

Aw, the only thing that was missing to make Redpower perfect was an automatic crafting table. (Buildcraft's  crafting table isn't worth adding all the other stuff)
Today I saw that someone had updated the old automatic crafting table mod to 1.0, skipping the 1.8.1 version. So close yet so far away to the perfect modded Minecraft. :(

I've been playing on Kael's server recently, and I'm finding playing with the bay12 community far more enjoyable than usual Minecraft servers. However, once I get two dozen blocks of iron, a dozen blocks of gold, 3 blocks of diamond, oodles of whatever else, etc... It becomes sort of boring. I feel like trying a server with non-vanilla features, but hopefully still a bay12 server. So, are there any, say, technic-heavy bay12 servers?

I don't know how you guys find all this stuff. I spend two hours exploring lava caverns and find maybe two diamonds and ten gold ores. Nothing like a dozen BLOCKS of gold.

Actually a good deal of that gold came from trading with other people.

... I guess I'm a shrewd businessman :P

Pretty sure she intends to add an autocrafting table in redpower eventually, I think I saw it on that overview post thing on her blog.

Yeah, I know.  It's just that if the crafting table mod had been for 1.8 I could simply rollback my minecraft and enjoy it right now instead of having to wait. ;)

Fuck, notch's code is a flaming mess of inconsistency and confusion~

Sadly a lot of modders are probably going to wait for patches as well - 1.0 has some pretty bad bugs including some that keep many people from being on SMP at all

The only SMP preventing bug I know of was the bad server key one, and that's been fixed already.

the "enchantments disappear on death" bug is also rather annoying. it's the reason i keep my silk touch enchanted pickaxe in my secret lockette'd strongbox ... wait, that is kinda redundant ...

Well, the minimum for a BC automatic crafting table is an input chest, a single wood pipe, an output chest, any repeating redstone input, and getting the configuration right so that it uses the older system of redstone simply powering the table, rather than requiring one of the newer engine setups.

Still requires quite a bit of BC to be present, though, if that was what you were talking about. It's just not too bad block-wise.
