Quick question, how did you all discover Minecraft? Personally I found out about a year ago (I think) from Penny Arcade when they did a strip about it.

That's a tougher one. I think it took a long time for me to play. First word I got of it was from VGcats, back in the days when they actually updated more than once a year. Anyways, I was a bit interested, but not enough to seek it out. Then, I kept seeing it pop up so I tried the free creative version (this was past when creative had split off and was free). It was interesting, but just didn't catch my eye. Then I read more about it here, and it was the stories here that really caught me, and I bought it probably a few months before it hit beta.

I knew notch personally from his wurmonline days.
Was hooked on his "Breaking the tower" for a while and looked around for what else he was doing.

I also made the first known temple to Notch during the first multiplayer test

I knew Minecraft back in the days where it was still an Infiniminer clone. Didnt buy till much later though.

I knew Minecraft during it's alpha days, when my brother introduced it to me. We first pirated the game (I'll admit), but we eventually bought the game because it was fun, and alpha buyers get every update for free (supposedly).

For some reason I can't log into Minecraft.net, even though I tried multiple passwords, reset it twice, and IT WORKS IN THE LAUNCHER.

 I do not look forward to another Infiniminer, but hopefully this game will be harder to grief in. Unless a magma pool spawn near the surface. But from the looks of things this isn't filled with nearly as many security holes as infiniminer had.

My hopes were fulfilled!
