Er, yeah, sort of.

It's not about finding hidden blocks so much as it's about surviving both entering and exiting 16 hard as nails dungeons. The colored wool is just proof.

(Ok it's more like 14 moderately challenging dungeons and two harder than hard ones)

It's really not about finding hidden blocks at all. In the more recent maps, most of the wool is in large 'Fleecy-Boxes' made of brick, glass and glowstone (i.e. very difficult to confuse with any other structure). The difficulty is in... well, they really have to be played. Extremely hostile environments that actually want to kill YOU, specifically, YOU, because Vechs hates everyone in a strangely affectionate way.

I think my favorite thing about the Super Hostile maps, most obviously Legendary, are the signs he leaves for you. It's like you're on death row, and he is both your tour guide and your executioner.

It's like the plot of The Green Mile, if the block supervisor had been Percy Wetmore.

I hope after minecraft 1.0 that he will add somsomething to minecraft that lets you do something else besides building and exploring the landscape.

I'm gonna keep the first world I'll generate in the full version of minecraft.

Well, technically, that's what the Adventure update was/is supposed to address. Some sort of combat progression. Even if it is just one boss, it's a step in that direction. I think the intended goal is to have interesting dungeons to fight through and bosses to kill.
Don't quote me on that though.

I'd love it if the best modders semi-officially joined Mojang and were able to make "official" mods.
