Bahahaha apparently the fence cant go against rats.

So you need a medium voltage system. However for that, you need MFE every 2 or 1 tiles, or make a lossy system. Possibly with a loss divisable by 5, so you can power it purely with generators.

Could use tin wires for the low voltage fence. They lose barely any energy, even uninsulated.

That also does approximately no damage at all.

Do you need a transformer? If connected to a bat box won't they just drain power slowly?
Bat boxes just melt tin wires. And if there's anything worse than tying up my solar panels is using up resources on bat-boxes every five blocks.

And surely over time tin wires could kill? I know for sure they do damage, nearly dying when wiring up a hydro farm.

If you're worried about wasting energy making an electric fence, you're not going to protect much.

Just how big was the hydro farm in question?

Hooked up a bunch of solar panels, didnt do nuthin.

EDIT: Now at 36EU/t, which is more than copper cable can handle in a single packet. Still nothing.

Have a question: What kind of mods do you think would go well with a post apocalyptic themed server? A friend of mine who already has an established server has decided to make another with lots of features that are just up to speculation at the moment. We've been looking through mods and bouncing ideas back and forth, but what do you guys think?

Factions and Heroes (or possibly a different version of the same thing) are base mods in this case, due to our familiarity with them. We'll likely have custom classes for different archetypes, with flavor names for skills that don't fit the futuristic setting.

We've also looked at mods that cause the sun to deal damage to the player when above ground, have a bit more rarity in the case of ores, and food will be scarce. We're looking for mods that allow for power usage (a la buildcraft, or the uranium mod, which is sadly defunct), and are hopefully Spoutcraft compatible. Deathban will be active, for around 5 minutes or so.

Remove ores entirely, or almost entirely. Change ores into various types of scrap which you have to dig up. The scrap is remnants of the prewar world, and would have to be sorted and 'refined' into usable materials.

Exactly. By no rules he means deconstruct entire islands to get to the endings.

One map, where creepers spawned right next to you, under a series of islands. There were spawners inside the walls so you could either rip apart the island looking for the spawners, or hope that you don't die to the creepers.

Ah no it wasn't that I know about that... Its just that when I am underground, there is no cycle of the Spawn and Non Spawn like above ground. So they start to pile up. If for example I die, and I missed a spawner or two or went a different way all together. I will have to face like 50 mobs at once, which drains my computers processer to the point where I can't aim a bow or even fight in melee. Pretty much makes underground exploration impossible unless I restart the map considering that the area I needed to pass through was directly under my home...

Kinda what killed me in Black Desert, Couldn't kill the mobs fast enough to make a way to their spawners to remove it for safety reasons, that as I moved to the edge the game stopped picking up the SHIFT key being held down and I fell into the Swarm...

I found out why though they were spawning so fast. I had the Difficulty at max... :P
