Yeah EE doesn't have multiplayer support yet. Presumably it'll be added in when that's added.

You know Technic singleplayer for 1.8.1 is out right? This is just the multiplayer version, because there's no SMP version of EE that mod can't be included.

'Nother question, will copying a world over from Technic 1.7.3 to Technic 1.8.1 screw things up?

...I suppose I should just test and see...

EDIT: Turns out Technic for 1.8.1 does not like worlds generated with Technic 1.7.3. Thankfully, the Bogota seed in 1.8.1 is similar to the seed in 1.7.3, though not quite as awesome.

And I am never going to play technic SMP unless they get EE to work. It's just not fun enough without it.

It's not just a matter of "getting it to work", the author of the mod has to spend (a fair amount of) time making a SMP server version of their mod. Also, if you're going to be playing single player anyway there isn't much point to getting the SMP version of Technic.

Apparently I fucked something up. A restart of minecraft fixed it, but left a chest that wouldnt close. Had to tear it down and put a new chest in its place.

I think Im running into a memory leak or something somewhere, which forced minecraft to close and most likely caused that monstrosity.

So, uh, are there even any servers that are running that TechnicMP bundle? I know I would love to build fantastic contraptions with other people or nuke mountains together but a cursory glance over the minecraft forums shows nothing.

Pretty sure the minecraft forums aren't particularly receptive to technic so it hasn't been announced there. Maybe check the yogscast forums, they have a technic section.
