wow thanks for the 'o' tip, i did that.

Also, Its night and I hear zombies, I dont mind them, but wont creepers utterly ruin the point of the technic pack? Is there any way to disable just the creepers?

What do you mean utterly ruin the point? The point is to make big complex constructions from what I can tell, which is pretty much the point of creative mode. Or peaceful mode.

Oh, I'm sure there's a mod out there to disable creepers. Or you could enable peaceful mode, but that disables hostile spawns altogether.

You DO realize that creepers don't just explode randomly, right?

Set up an area in which they don't spawn (well-lit), and if you see any shoot them with a bow. Problem solved, no destruction of whatever "technic" is required.

Yep, pretty much. I turn them off anyway because creepers irritate me when they camp me right outside the door, but a bow solves the problem pretty handily.

 And it's quite simple to melee them to death. And they only spawn one at a time in decently lit areas. And if you place your stuff in rooms they won't spawn within rooms smaller than a few chunks.

 Really you should be complaining about Endermen. Just gonna disconnect your oil pipeline no problem.

Actually, I'm under the impression that Endermen can only move certain block types (like wood, dirt, etc). I'm guessing that custom block types won't be affected.

Upon re-reading the wiki page, I see that IN THE FUTURE, endermen will only be able to pick up lightweight blocks. My bad.

thanks for all the input guys, I havent played MC in quite a while.

So i am going to try and get going without item cheating, and I was wondering if anyone had any tips with what I should be doing first to get going with the machines. Right now I am just going to dig and get some resources as usual but I want to get my automation going, so any suggested first steps?

Playing Technic pack? Find a rubber tree and make a generator, macerator, and electric furnace before anything else in industrialcraft.
