Quotes don't seem to be working. So, is Industrial Craft updated yet?

Here's the IC & ICē Wiki.

Quotes are working fine.  You just misplaced your end-quote tag.

It also works with Industrial Craft 2.  The interaction lets you double your diamonds, so you can get your Dark Matter stuff that much faster.

How do you double your diamond production?

ICē's Macerator makes each ore block yield two bars of metal.
  • Transmute dirt to cobblestone,
  • Transmute cobblestone to redstone ore,
  • Transmute redstone ore to iron ore,
  • Macerate iron ore,
  • Furnace iron dust into iron bars,
  • Transmute iron bars into gold bars,
  • Transmute gold bars into diamonds.
Or use less fuel/energy by transmuting iron ore to gold ore before macerating.

Yeah I figured that out immediately after posting.

Anyone have a good simple design for an automated cobblestone generator using pistons?
Youtube it. Everyone puts everything on youtube.
The few I've found that are fully automated are using mods I don't have. Ahh well.

Reply to doubling diamonds:

I find it's a lot better to transmute gold bars to iron bars to glowstone to gold ore, macerate it, then smelt the dust, and repeat. Infinite gold!

I was just about to say, industrialcraft + buildcraft + EE = infinite diamond factory.

well, industrial craft + buildcraft = infinite diamond factory if you have enough solar panels to keep the matter generator running. I'm trying to figure out a  way to have an auto mined cobble farm so that I can auto craft ore out of cobble...the problem is, IC mining pipes act as a block, and buildcraft mining wells dig too slowly on the redstone and steam engines.

I like my method of planet cracking and turning the scrap to diamond.

Actually, here's an indirect way if you love your iron too much to give it up. Maybe faster too? Glowstone aggregators help this a lot obviously.

Sugar cane to sugar -> 6 sugar to 1 glowstone dust -> 4 glowstone dust to one block (without the philopsipher's stone) -> 8 blocks to one gold ore -> 4 bars to 1 diamond.

Obviously macerate the ore and 16 glowstone blocks per diamond.

Whoa whoa, no need for UU matter to get diamonds. I mean taking a diamond, converting it down to a ton of glowdust, changing that to glowstone, coverting that into iron ore, grinding the iron ore down to 2 dust, smelting that into iron bars, and then reforming them into more diamonds. I think you can get 2 diamonds for every diamond you convert.

Also, am very disappointed that you cannot convert diamonds into lapis lazuli for the same amount of lapis you have to use to make a diamond. I think i got 12 lapis out of 1 diamond by converting it down to sand, smelting the sand into glass, and then converting the glass into ice, and then lapis.... I guess he got the numbers wrong somewhere.

Don't even have to go to glowdust, iron bars go straight into glowstone, which goes into gold ore. You gain a profit of about 50% minus any fuel for furnaces and macerators, which is easily avoidable with solar panels.

Also, not all conversions are 100% equivalent. For example, the coal to cobble conversion.

Yes but you can also get a load of glowstone aggregators and convert glowstone dust into blocks, break about a fourth of the blocks you get from one "cycle" and turn all of that dust into more blocks. Without putting a dent into iron which is a useful resource.

But since you can convert diamonds into iron anyway, who cares?

Why not just convert everything into diamonds? Carry around a stack of diamond blocks and a philosophers stone and you have everything you need in 2 inventory slots.

Regarding glowstone aggregators. I can't decide which is better, glowstone or dirt. Obviously you can get a much larger quantity of dirt by converting glowdust, which means you fill up your machines faster and with less wasted glowstone.

I think the coal to cobblestone conversion is just a mistake. It's obvious that they aren't equal to each other.

Glowstone aggregators take only 3 minutes to convert glowdust, but about 4 minutes 10 seconds to convert dirt.
