You can shear the Mooshrooms. It's very silly.

Hehe.. Mooshrooms.

\ \

Looking at it again, it seems like the ground has a "corruption" look to it, in addition to a lot of mushrooms.

I'm guessing new biome, in which mushrooms take the place of trees.. possibly spreads?

It looks infectious and now that we have poison, it just may well be.

Anyone else thinking about the principle from Ranma?

I assume this is just an improvement on the mushroom forest biome. Speaking of which, are those in 1.8? I can't remember.

I think so.  Haven't found any myself.

I did find my first abandoned mine, though.  It's crazy and mingled with huge caverns and caves, so there's floating parts everywhere.

The seed's -1870451840, or HappyHappyJoyJoy, coordinates are:

x: 0
y: 15
z: 359

There's a chest near there, set in the center of a huge natural obsidian formation underneath a waterfall.  Also a poisonous spider spawner nearby.

1.8 isn't interesting enough for me to keep playing it and bugs are ruining all the good mods. Seems I'm going on a minecraft hiatus for a while.

N@W admins started a lore contest. It ends today, and I wanted to post here a link to my contribution, since the protagonist of it is Taco_Dan, which however no longer plays on the N@W server.

 :o

I just found a huge open-air ravine/abandoned mineshaft with a waterfall flowing into it:

I'm loving these new underground features.

Cordyceps.

Now all we need are giant underwater monsters in the new oceans and it'll be all my phobias in one accessible place, haha.

Underwater monsters are gonna add some challenge for me. I usually use water as a shelter from nasty critters until I can get proper shelter on land since nothing but squid spawns in water.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Can you see it? Can you see the BRIDGE THROUGH HELL ITSELF? Seriously though, new pic from Jeb. Looks like some sort of NPC structures in the nether and a new type of brick block.
