I'm talking to someone on the Bukkit forums who sounds interested in making a plugin that will delete the extra tiles live, and possibly add the walls.

Actually, it'd be pretty cool to build over void. Not air-down-to-bedrock. Void. Think about it - you live in a dimension where natural land is along just one dimension, but to either side there is a void that is completely open to use.

Definitely not disagreeing with that, but it might defeat the point of having the limited space.

Although, there would be very limited resources considering the lack of space, so it wouldn't exactly be "Pave the skies"

   All I can think of is that if instead of an infinite
distance in both directions it was very long way
that looped and the opposite side of the loop was
above you in an arc would make the server be
just like Ringworld or the Halo's in Halo.

So I installed several mods (mostly risugami's), including the biospheres mod. I have yet to find any minerals at all. Am I unlucky, did I mess up the installation somehow, or is this an issue with the mod itself? I need iron for the portal gun mod.

   Has the Biosphere mod been updated? On the post
it says "Biosphere Beta 1.7_01" while the rest all have
a 1.7.3

There are a couple more with 1.7_01 too, although apparently they're all updated to 1.7.3.

Also, I'm wandering around the biodomes now.

   I figured it was working in some form. You mentioned not
finding stuff and not that the game stalled on world gen or
something. I was wondering about the updatedness of the
mod because if it was not then not genning something could
be because something to do with it being changed and thus
making it unable to gen.

I'll peel a couple open with MCEdit and see if there's anything there.

EDIT: I was just being unlucky, at least with iron and coal. Haven't seen gold or redstone yet, so I'll keep looking.
