That sounds difficult to do, but yeah, that'd be pretty cool.

It'd be nicer if the pistons were variable length

I think you can stack them together, though that does mean you have to have a deeper recess for a longer-pushing piston, but meh.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make docking bay doors larger than one tile across. So far I can get them to close, but not open again. However, this  "emergency door" could be 12 tiles across.

Simple, two pistons stacked next to each other makes the one on the end extend twice as long.  Power is provided up the chain to the piston that doesn't have a piston in front of it.

Code: [Select]

>-| Piston out

Mmm, with the mod, at least, that was impossible due to horrible horrible bugs.
I wouldn't get my hopes up.

EDIT: Oh, by the way, they fixed redstone

Just so I don't look like a fool, I did know you could do this, I was saying that Notch making a single piston with a modifiable length would be difficult for him.

Notch isn't making the pistons, though.

Notch, Jeb, same deal. If we wanted to be technical, we could use the company name "Mojang", but after well over a year of Minecraft being "Notch's game", it's kind of hard to think of it any other way.

To be fair, Mojang was Notch's company long before Minecraft was Notch's game.
The fact that it has been Notch and only Notch since he split off from Rolf over at Wurm Online is irrelevant.

The trouble with stacks of pistons is that providing moving objects with redstone power is really tough. How would you wire an elevator that used 4 vertically stacked Sticky Pistons to move a block up and down a shaft, when each successive piston moves farther from its origin? Especially without having alcoves with redstone wiring visible in the shaft?

That's a kabuto pokemon in the second picture isn't it? No idea about the first though.

I want to say that the first one is MegaMan related.
