Just caught the Yogscast's "Shadow of Israphel" series. It's almost like a tabletop adventure game, with a bunch of NPCs speaking in-character, and with Simon and Lewis being their usual irreverent selves. It's quite fun to watch.

If someone had the server for it, I wouldn't mind running a group adventure like this one some day, too. Even have a fantastic castle my friend made to base it around.

On a completely different note, has anyone had their water freeze while it snowed? Because that doesn't appear to be working for me. This seriously impedes the natural construction of an ice tower.

I've never seen water naturally freeze or develop ice over it on its own, snowing or otherwise.

I had a lake over which I built my house that was being covered in slowly expanding ice in one game. This was a while back, maybe 1.3. It was actually pretty annoying since it was causing critters to seek shelter near my house's light, with their constant splashing around and the lowing of the cows and sheep.

I haven't updated to 1.5 yet to see or experience it there.

Perhaps we should introduce our friends to one another, and combine their castles into a fantastic huge superadventure?

Unless, of course, they are the same person. Or... *gasp* WE are the same person... o.o?!

I tried it. The only problem is that there isn't much accessible ores. :O
However, some biospheres are PERFECT for placing an creepy abandoned cottage.

Oh, biospheres looks really brilliant.  I wonder if it could be coerced into using Kaevator's Super Slopes to get the spheres looking a bit smoother.

Oooh, somebody found a sphere with ghasts!

Woot!  Somebody else had a lightning strike on their bridge and it burned, stranding them!

IC should probably be updating to later today 1.5_01.

Also, I finally unearthed the likely relationship between how often IC updates and real world time!!!

(see "ticks" in wiki articles: alpha file format, redstone repeater)

(assuming FPS >= 20)
20 ticks = 1 second

1 = 20 ticks / 1 second
1 = 1/20 second / 1 ticks

Alblaka's greatest lie is when he says "Solar Generator: 1 EUs" because many many people seem to think it means the same thing as 1 EU/s. His EUs is actually in EU/tick. You can multiply any units by 1 and I've written a handy way to write 1 above; we can use it like so:

Solar Generator: 1 EU/tick (20 ticks / 1 second) = 20 EU/second.

My watermill data predicted around 6.98 EU/second and I can now move the units around into EU/tick:

Water Mill (alone in 25 blocks of water): 6.98 EU/second (1/20 second / 1 tick) = 0.349 EU/tick

I'll probably be converting all of Alblaka's lies into EU/second for my own use once I get confirmation so I'll probably post those figures then.

Just how do I get biospheres to work? I follow the instructions on the page, but that just prevents the game from running at all
