Feel free to ignore this post if it's annoying, but can anybody enlighten me to any major updates since say 3 months ago? I got a little burnt out and am wondering if there are significant content updates to make it more interesting.

Dye (mostly made from flowers) for dyed wool, benign aquatic octopus mobs, occasional black sheep with matching wool, sandstone made from sand, varying tree types (birch, etc), handful of differently-colored wood (not plank) colors that function identically but still look different, ability to smelt wood into charcoal, which doesn't stack with but is wholly identical to plain coal, new type of gem/ore (lapis lazuli) mainly used for dye, skeletons drop bones for bonemeal for dye or insta-growing trees.

I think that's it. There's probably something or other I'm forgetting, but there's nothing truly game-changing since the Nether.

The terrain generated has changed too. Ore deposits are more variable, with possibilities for larger veins than the previous six max for stuff like Iron.

Gotta love Painterly.

Shame the side grasses aren't biome compliant.

birds and horses and lions and stuff!

Anyone out there using this mod?

Yep, though I turned off those damned ogres after they destroyed my base for the Nth time.
I just had my first encounter with an ogre. Was underground working on my tree farm and I hear a crashing noise that kind of sounds like an explosion but not really. I go above ground to see what's happening and catch a glimpse of the destruction then die. I had designed my fort so my spawn was in the center of it and I was going to have an obsidian safe room around the spawn but I hadn't gotten to building it yet. My hole was diagonally adjacent to my spawn point. My chest and crafting table were also next to my spawn point. So I spawned essentially under the ogre. After some running around and dieing I tried to build a jump tower using the destroyed blocks the ogre had created to get away but ended up on a tree.  I jumped up to the highest part of the tree which was just out of the ogre's reach and was safe. Then the leaves despawned and I landed on the ogre and the mayhem continued. Dawn approached and the ogre was busy with a wolf and a werewolf so it ignored me until it turned dawn and it stopped being hostile. Then it merrily walked over to my unfinished cactus wall and proceeded to kill itself in the most anticlimactic way possible.

Thing made me lose everything I had created and every item I had acquired so far then died to a plant.

Just downloaded and installed.   Pretty cool so far, though I don't know what the heck I'm supposed to do with these 'fire' I pick up off of a dead ogre.

A creeper got in a fight with a shark.  It didn't end well for either party involved.... Or me, where I ended up with a lot of water and a pissed off shark suddenly falling through my cave roof.  Don't mine underneath shoreline with creepers and sharks around, it's an explosive combination.
