That looks like it's 16-bit colors... nothing but chroma, and some grayscale...

Yes, Notch drew that. He says he is going to implement it.

Fuck yeah!  Music!  Block music!  Musical blocks!  Fuck yeah!

Right number, but it's 16 colors period, same as Dwarf Fortress (and all terminal systems I guess), and old versions of MSPaint.  I believe it's 4-bit color.

The texture pack is well done, but I don't consider it particularly appealing. I'm sure there are those who would appreciate an upgrade like that, though.

Musical blocks sounds incredible. Unless it's lever only, you could potentially program entire songs.

Since it uses a redstone connection, I'm pretty certain that any active redstone wire will work, thus all those crazy circuit tricks will be viable.

I'm betting that at least three people will do the Mario theme song if this ever becomes an ingame feature.

Even if they only allow one octave, that would be a zillion metric tons of songs. I mean, we've already got CPUs in Minecraft. You know what these people can do.

Make it water activated. Just run water over it and you've got yourself a song.

Well, if you stack them high enough... You could get really high pitches, presumably.

Aren't there already musical blocks? Jukeboxes?

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Yeah, and they play records, if you can find any.  This will let you play notes of your own setting however you want to.  I predict an absolutely explosion of machinima performance videos.

Just to note, Notch's Twitter confirms the redstone activation... and apparently, you can trigger the sounds by punching them as well.

This. Is. Awesome.  :D

Did some-one say alarm clock?

With dynamite for that extra oomph?

Ooh, and a rain of arrows, too, so if you don't wake up in time, it wakes you up in time for you to make some last minute additions to your will.
