Turns out the ratio is actually 1:8, not 1:16 like originally stated.

I've said 2, 10 and 16. I found 8 to be the best balanced.

still cant connect to 2.97.33.64

The Stone City Server is suffering from technical difficulties, and will be unavailable until further notice.

Please remain calm. We will resume service as soon as is possible.
More like it seems I don't have a 24/7 server atm (WORKING ON IT) cause of somebody switching of the power to it. GRRRRR. ANyways will be up for at least 14 hours today  :)

Remember to use the no-ip address: stonecity.no-ip.org

ALSO: Got llamacraft backup and running on the server, so no more giant fires  :P

Tell me, is there a way to have constant flow???
As in, when you open a hole in the ground and water flows though but then stops, thats annoying...

You'll just have to get used to Minecraft's water physics.

If you mean one block filling a river for example, then no.

I've had a gate link correctly -only once-. (Original on earth, and then when coming back from the nether, I appear on the original gate every time)

The major difference was that the obsidian wasn't under the ground, so you had to jump to get on the gate. Not sure if it was luck or if that matters. It needs more testing, obviously. I have a strong suspicion that whenever a gate fails to link correctly, you can tweak it by destroying it and moving one tile on a given direction. It's a logical bug, if the algorithm Notch uses searches 2x3 tiles for a gate, so it might skip 'odd' gates. I have a broken link gate that I can use to test that, count the distance between the original gate to the nether-created one to see if it's an odd number issue and then build an appropriate gate and test it.
I have had a gate link back to its earthbound counterpart correctly, too. This one, however, was 30-50 blocks beneath the surface. Had to do some digging to reach the open areas of hell when I first entered.

For anyone who wants a sneak-peak at Hell, I uploaded a video via Livestream, of me whimpering like a girl as I tunnel up from a bloody cavern in The Nether, leaping frantically off cliffs, and waging warfare against all things infernal while horribly under-equipped.

It was a lot of fun.

EDIT: Link should be fixed.

Should be fixed. Alternatively, there's a link in my sig, and you can pull it up from the library.

Such a terrible video host... The video started up, THEN a full screen ad popped up pausing it, THEN I literally lost count of the number of ads I had to close to see what was going on.  Watching the video fine until it just stopped, but the sound continued when you were in your torrent of "like, like this and like that like" when you lost your own train of thought.

Something to note -- the newest version of c10t (to support the new blocks) can render your Nether.
Download it here:  www.toolchain.eu/hudson
Run it from the commandline with the following parameters --
c10t -w WORLDPATH\DIM-1 -N -t 80 (-z/-y/-q)

-z for isometric
-y for angled oblique
-q for oblique
leave blank for normal (top-down)

-N will force it to render despite the lack of a level.dat
-t 80 forces it to render only the lower 80 z-levels.  This is not ideal, because it cuts off the upper 40 levels of the world, but it is about the best number for seeing past the roof in the huge chambers.

This is the output of my World2's Nether in isometric form.
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
Want those colors?  Download this and put it in the c10t folder.
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2941534/Minecraft/palette-new.txt
Add this argument to the c10t line.

Color those trees yellow or brown and they'd almost look like tower caps.

A quick experiment confirms what I'd suspected was the case, considering that trees grow in hell: grass, if you hack a grass block into your inventory, will spread to dirt blocks in hell, given sufficient light. It is rather brown grass though...

Anyone else notice that floating leaf blocks no longer seem to despawn on their own?
