I am quite certain there has never been a pumpkin in reality, and never will be. Frankly the notion strikes me as ridiculous and moronic.

Pumpkins are real. How do I start a portal?

As it turns out, the pen was in fact a poor choice for melee combat in comparison to the sword.
So I just started playing this game and I accidentally nuked the moon.

Had pumpkins right next to my spawn on this world. Another thing, I can confirm that 9 dust things from the glowing yellowish blocks from the underworld can be combined into a block of the original stuff it came from.

Anyone know why minecraft keeps crashing? >_>

I'm not certain if they show up naturally. I didn't find any untill after I built a gate myself. Now there are three of them, and the other two were not built by me.
Same, pretty sure I didn't miss the portal fused into the side of the train station I came in on.

I am starting to fear that my comparing Nethergates to Interdimentional-Fatiuge Technology may not be entirely incorrect.

Seems more like a resonance cascade to me

On testing, building a portal where the new one was, then entering and exiting hell through it, didn't cause a crash. So the question is, does it crash when you create a portal in normalspace from hell, or when the portals are misaligned and it's forced to?

How do I start a portal?
You need 14 Obsidian, although you can supposidly skip the corners and get away with ten if you really want to, but it won't look good. Make them in the shape of a 4x4 gate, and light the center on fire. Stand in the portal, and wait. Beware. Linking the Nether and the Overworld may allow more than just you to travel...

---Begin Log 3---
I decided to inspect this glowing gold stuff. Unfortunately, I can't salvage it as a black after mining it. However, I have this odd yellow dust. I'll investigate after I gather myself up a suitable amount. It also turns out I'm going higher in this odd realm. I might make it a quest to dig higher, see what's there.
---End Log 3---

To start a portal, you need to set it alight with flint and steel.

EDIT:
While collecting samples, in an attept to catch yellow stuff, he fell into the great magma sea, and was never heard from again. Clad in full diamond armor, he is no more.

I noticed something, the yellow stuff takes some time to mine even with a diamond pick. That stuff must be freaking tough and rare material. I am intrigued. Is there possibly something harder than diamonds we can use?

What are you calling "flambeite"? The red cobblestone? That doesn't start fires unless you set it on fire, in which case the fire still sets other things on fire, while the stone itself won't catch fire unless set by flint or ghast (presumably to prevent hell from becoming impossible to navigate).

That's the one. The name just came to mind.

Anyone noticed that there are only 3 new blocks then Notch said there would be 4?

It would be an interesting exercise to have Red Mossy Cobblestone be modded to spread fire, and see how long one can last in an increasingly inferno-filled Nether. That said, I hope Notch screws up a future update so that this very scenario occurs.

In addition, I'm hoping Notch sticks with Nether as a name. I like it.

Perhaps we just haven't found them yet.

Actually, you can mine it in the no time with just your fists.
