Why would the game not be safe to buy? As has been mentioned.. it'll cost you 10 to 15 bucks in a one time sale.

Here's the IP for the future Stone City:
Future?
Um, you know he plans to release the new update in 8 hours, right?
You know that it will include a client update that will break backwards compatibility (with the server software), right?

It doesn't break backwards compatability, you just might not get a hell, because it's not on the map.

Nexus isn't on the normal map regardless, it's in a different map entirely, compressed from the normal map's size x16. Notch has said that hell will work on old maps.

break backwards compatibility (with the server software)
Try again.

He has to run the server without any of that special software he lists after the update is released.

I think he means that is the IP that the server WILL be on.

Ah yes, but it'll still work. The server that is.

It's still the future Stone City. What's your point?

I decided to look around the Minecraft forums for a bit. Bad decision. No moderators and constant spam/failed arguments. Trying to remember the last place I went that was that bad and I'm coming up empty.

A track protected by obsidian would be a good idea, in the Hell World. Either that or doing it all underground.

I bucket brigaded a lava lake into a disused mineshaft(ran out of good picks) and obsidianized it. As a preparation for tomorrow I have 84 inventory obsidian, 200 raw in that tunnel and an estimate 1500 left in the lake. and a chest mostly full of torches.

Oh nuts, I can't get the portal to work in SMP in time. I'll add a flag to start in either normal or Nether mode so you can try it in smp
