It's the blackscreen load problem. Looks like I just got screwed out of 15$, according to what I've been able to dig up on it.

Well, even if that never gets fixed(unlikely), you won't have the same computer forever. It'll work eventually.

Elaborate, please. I know we can make cannons to fire TNT, but rockets is a bit far-fetched.

Minecraft has electricity.

By all means Rockets arn't all that advanced and predate firearms.

Minecraft has hacked together fake electricity and fake physics. Entities don't collide with eachother other than the creature entities and other creature entities.

Ran across this little gem in one of the speculation threads over at the official forums. Now I want it to spawn as a DF forgotten beast simply so that I can watch the carnage.

Your signature is surprisingly apt.

Maybe try the offline client? Using mods this happens on the browser version, but the offline one works fine, worth a shot.

It happens on both, and anything else related to alpha.

My Java was indeed out of date...and updating it didn't fix the problem.

I got it working, but it required deleting the entire game and redownloading. I started over, and was peacefuly placing torches on the mountian that is now my base, when....

So I guess that only leaves a custom player model to be a real minecraft player.

Welcome to the club, then.  ;D

Skins are always fun - I have zero artistic talent and still managed to hack out something half-decent. Plus, it's way more fun to make your own skin than use someone else's (and you have an excuse if it sucks!). Once you're up and running, and once the big post-Halloween switches are done, check out MP - we've got two servers with threads floating around the forums.  :D

EDIT: Well, since having some actual content in one of my posts might be nice... Notch updated the blog.

Biomes are looking nice so far - he seems to have the transitions working well, which was always my big concern.
And the comments haven't been totally flooded with morons Minecraft community members yet!

Cool, re-installing would have been my next suggestion. Glad you got it working, it's definitely worth the price. I would also recommend trying multiplayer once you really get used to the game. I never play anything online because of the sheer amount of jerks there usually are (and amount I know that like to brag about being one) but on a good server, this is possibly the best thing ever. Try to get a skin before that though, too many default skins online, have fun!

The biomes look really weird, some of the transitions are too sudden and they look too small.
