I have a short attention span, don't really think it's al that "awesome", have 0% of all the crafting skill in the world, and see absolutely no practical purpose. How, exactly, do you plan to lull ME in?

*wink*

Erm. Yeah. That's actually something I'd totally get behind (now that I know what's going on with it), but I'm in the middle of a mega-ish project of my own on jaycraft. I'll come help when I'm taking a break/finished.

(also, off topic, Toony your forum pics are always like a little treasure hunt for me to find the next cool thing I should be interested in if I'm not already, but I can't find what this one's from, even though it looks familiar. Hint?)

I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

Oh. So it is. It's been other things in the past, but yeah.

Oy Toony, you logged into Jaycraft once and then never came back.
We're online 24/7 nowadays, you don't have to wait for me to post something about it...

It's okay.  I usually just go on when I want to, kinda don't want to bother with Minecraft right now.

Stop trying to steal potential slaves workers FELLOW FUN HAVERS from the Stonecity project!

Dear sir,
What you do not perhaps realise is that the cavern you see in those pictures was not built by means of sticking two coordinates into some add-on console and letting HAX remove all blocks in between, but by honest mining and exploding. Hours of work went into creating what you see there. If you do not consider that awesome, then why do you play minecraft? It is, afterall, ultimately a game about who can either place or remove the most blocks in the most pleasing way.
To address your worries of lack of SKILLZ/ATTENTION: No skillz are required for this project. We really do need people to just chip away at rocks, and every little helps- even if you just remove a dozen blocks, it will help us!
As for your questioning as to the purpose: Sir, the carving of the nine rings is but the beginning; a frame upon which we will construct a grand dwarven city, in the style of the great dwarven cities of fiction. That, surely, is purpose enough?

ANYWAY, even if it sounds stupid, drop in anyway and come take a look. The screenshots don't really do it justice, and it is pretty epic.

Magma pit? Sir, between every ring is a moat of liquid fire, and you insult the spirit of dwarvendom if you think any dwarven city could be complete without magma pouring from the ceiling for no apparent reason.
Also, there will be a magma sea after the ninth ring, as big as we have the patience to make.

Me?  "Stealing" from your project?
I hate to tell you, but Jaycraft predates Stonecity.
You've already "stolen" from me, sir.

Hah, I love your enthusiasm Nuke. :)

Note however that the magma and other such embellishments come later. Our current priority is to finish mine our Ring 5, at which point we'll start on Ring 6.

EDIT: And irf you make a noteworthy contribution, you earn a place in the Hall of Heroes. So get cracking!
