He gave plenty of warning last few times he was supposed to do it. I think when he fixes survival multiplayer so we have all the features of singleplayer he'll raise the price.

He's probably gunning to have most everything fixed for the Halloween Update too, so you should buy now just in case.

The program displays whatever texture pack you are using, and Jay is using an old Halloween texture pack likely updated for SMP.

EDIT:  OH GOD WHAT

Heeeeehehehe. I get that it's probably just a tileset swap, but that still makes me so excited for the Halloween update. Also, it's nifty seeing magma everywhere. Where can I get that?

Edit: Also, thanks for the maps in general. They help a ton for planning things and getting them to look how I want them to.

Ah. I thought it was just a texture swap so you could have it look like hell without literally having magma covering the world. I'm guessing it probably wouldn't be terribly difficult to do that, I just have no idea how texture packs work in Minecraft.

After experimenting, this setting guarantees a big tree:

Code: [Select]
..#    <- This block is what makes a large tree necessary.
.s.    <- This can be a block or not, doesn't matter.

Test for yourself. :)

Had an amusing event happen over the weekend.

I was holed up in a bunker I'd built as a way-station while building a road from my main valley over to the area I spawn at when I die. Busied myself with crafting some new items and whatnot while waiting for the sun to come up. Just around sunrise I turned around to discover that a creeper had apparently blown up right next to my door. The doorway and a large chunk of the floor/lower wall near the door were all gone.

I had the sound off, so I had NO idea this had happened until I turned around.

Still not sure why the creeper blew up if it couldn't get next to me, though.

Was the door on the INSIDE-facing side of the square, or the outside-facing one? If the creeper could get inside the square, it could see you through the door, and might have been close enough.

I'm not 100% on this, but I believe that, for purposes of creepers, doors count as LESS than one full block.  Depending on how close one of you was to the 'inside' of the door, it's conceivable that he felt close enough to kersplode.

Also, I finished my monster trap megaproject so that I could get the gunpowder needed to do the drift-mining needed for my other megaproject.  TNT is not as impressive as I had hoped.

As to the tree "guarantee" ... I have counter-proof to that, but it works most of the time.

As to Drift Mining ... I was doing that for some time until I realized it was blowing up my ore.  It's a risk playing with TNT if you are expecting to use it to get resources and not just clear land.

I'm not 'mining' with it, per se.  I'm using it to clear out land around a tower that is above sea-level.
