I wanted it to claustrophobic. I've almost built the first bit up now so will go through it myself after and see how it feels. If it feels a bit shitty then I'll make it wider for the underground one.

Pressure plates tied to TNT blocks at the end. The exit door must lead to a creeper filled room. Skeleton rooms alongside the walls, with murder holes spaced along 'em. Not only do you have to make the jumps, you have to do it while dodging arrowspam.

Needs moar lava!

I know! The floor is lava. If you get hit by an arrow, you get knocked off of your safe spot and get incinerated.

On one hand, the construction of my monster trap has taken the lives of three diamond picks.  On the other, it gave me the diamond required to make those picks in the first place.

So much time digging, but it will be worth it in the end.  And I will have done it without map or inventory editing.

Could you explain?

I'm trying desperately to farm them now, as I need a crapton of TNT to clear away some pesky mountains and I refuse to map edit.  Saw a great monster funnel death trap design today (http://www.minecraftforum.net/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=47522), and I'm going to try building some small version of it tonight.

That's my guess.

Rather weird bug just interrupted by long-delayed inaugural train ride.  Because I don't feel like abusing physics hacks and other such shit, I'm running my train the intended way, with an engine cart pushing the rest of the train along.  While rolling up a hill, I kinda fell out of the cart I was riding in.  Even after mining away all the blocks around me, I was stuck in the air, shaking, while the rest of the train rolled on without me.  I, uh, can't get down.

Hmm if you have materials to make a boat you might be able to make it, drop it, and get in/get out to unstick yourself. Not sure if there's an easier way.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

"Help, I've fallen and I can't get... down." Epic.  :D

I assume you've tried quitting and restarting? If so, this might be a 'fun' save file to send to Notch - he might be able to fix it and/or might be able to solve the bug for the future.

Well, I closed it with the taskmanager, because I didn't think it was a good idea to save it like that.  Hopefully nothing is too fucked up.  I'm a little worried now, I don't want to throw away this save after the assload of work I put into this railroad.

I've never tried saving while inside a mine cart... does the game actually remember that? I'd have assumed that you'd re-enter the world standing in place, probably with the mine cart shooting off into the distance from the impromptu collision with a player. Sadly, none of my saves have mine carts or enough free iron to test this.  :(

If you C-A-Ded it, the state of the save really depends. If the game wasn't actively saving a chunk at the time, then you'll probably be fine - you might lose some recent changes. If it was saving, it'll probably still be playable, but likely with corruption - either half-saved chunks, maybe some repositioned chunks. I don't know if its possible to corrupt MC maps to a non-playable state, but if so, you could manually delete the damaged chunks (or ask someone to do it... heck, there might even be a program for it, but I haven't followed the MC forums enough to know).

Of course, manual recovery is only an issue if the map refuses to load - as long as you can get in-game, it'll probably be fine.  ;D

You spawn "inside" your cart, but not riding it and the cart shoots off leaving you alone and sad that you have to go chase it.
