Since there is now a mod that allows use of higher resolution textures while fixing fire, water, and the weird brick/fire bug I've continued working on my own 32x32 skin. I'm trying to keep faithful to the original and have used some stuff from other people, unfortunately I can't find the names of these people so help identifying would be appreciated.

Gah it converted to .jpg; Does anyone know a good image upload site that doesn't compress or convert images?

To do:
shrubs - Nothing I've tried looks good
sponge
wheat - Nothing I've tried looks good

WIP:
bookcases - Looks odd
snow - has seam but does in vanilla game also
ploughed dirt - the furrows are too close together
top of TNT - no fuses

Not mine:
cobblestone
mossy cobblestone
obsidian
furnace front
furnace front burning
ores/redstone/raw diamond
red stone dust
the breaking blocks animation tiles

I also have particles finished and signs but nothing else.

What does everyone think?

That sucks. Btw, Jay. Have PHP actually open the port on the server and connect to check if it's up. You can also made a lil .txt file to make sure it only checks like every 5 minutes, to not spam the server.
Uh...
You do know that there's no way to make PHP connect using the Minecraft protocol?
That would be the only way that it could possibly tell that that was offline, because it was the game software that crashed, not the computer or the connection.
It already connects to the system on the server port.  That's the only way that that script would work at all.

I assume that you need to re-apply the texture packs every update?

You can connect to anything that uses TCP and inject anything into the connection. I've had one connect to muds, log in, and even type 'who' to see who was online. Minecraft is no different. Even so, if it's connecting to the ip/port, it shouldn't be giving out a fake online. Unless all you did was check if it connects. You should check if there's any data being sent to you. Altho, I should go check how the login protocol works on minecraft to give a better solution.

Yeah but unless he adds blocks it's just a simple drag and drop.

edit: For larger packs like mine you need to run a patcher too.

Yeah.

Data WAS being sent back.
Just not game data.

THE STONE CITY OF PLANEHACKED
WIP: HELP OUT TODAY!

This will be great. This will be huge. This will take a long time.
Because of this, I've decided to make this known to all and open for all to contribute, so that it can be built. I myself may not be able to contribute too much beyond what I have done already, as mid-term exams are coming, and after that end-of-term exams and projects, along with extracurricular studies. This great city is located under the castle north of spawn and opposite the Hanging Gardens (our honorable competition!). It will consist of 9 plateaus and a magma sea. Once the framework is done, buildings will be placed and art made. This was inspired by dwarven cities we all know and love, such as Moria, Undergrotto, and Orzammar (particularly the layout). The Plateaus will be used thusly:

  • Special Purposes: Hall of Heroes (Contributors), etc.
  • Civic Buildings, Churches, Etc
  • Upper Class Residential
  • Markets, Inns, Etc.
  • Middle Class Residential
  • Markets, Inns, Etc.
  • Corporate, Warehouses, etc
  • Lower Class Residential
  • Graveyards, Slums, Etc.

And just to break it up a bit, here are some statistics for the final city:

  • Height: 49 Blocks
  • Length: ~231 Blocks
  • Blocks Mined: Over 3000000 (That's right, over three million!)
  • Estimated Man Hours: 810

Pics:

And the all-important BATTLE PLAN (scale is one pixel to one block):

I know it's mediocre, so feel free to ask questions if you feel the need!

...Jaycraft 24/7 is back...  except...
EDIT: FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU I guess when he relaunched it, it killed Llamacraft.
The thicket is on fire, and, as I expected, the server is dead.

Luckily, I know for a fact there is a backup from before, but..  wow.

On the one hand, the thicket was too easy to get lost in.

On the other hand, fffffffffff

Also I just made a single player world, was exploring around, found a cavern. A few skeletons were chilling inside. I go in to take a look.

Not thirty seconds from spawn I found a skeleton dungeon about 4 metres below ground.

I think the game might be trolling me now.

Is Lap's server down right now? And yesterday.
Or is it just me?
