I'm failing at connecting to you too Jay. Sadness!
First I was getting the evil minecraft errorlog with something about...something.
Now I am getting connection timeouts.

Well, considering that it's offline now...

Ah, well that makes sense.
It was online when I attempted though, pretty sure.

Well, it seems the Greater mines is only a front door, because I decided to dig deeper and I suddenly realize that I can see the sky. Looking through the new window I made, I come to realize that Greater Mines has a cliff face on the other side.

It's not a total bust, I spotted a cave on the other side. I think I have reason to make use of the export of wood from Starter Mines (thanks to it's tree farm). The living quarters will be a series of suspended huts (possibly treehouses (material storage and housing)) linked by bridge. a bridge of sorts will be made to connect the entrance and housing to the nearby cave to serve as a forge/office or as another mining location. Heck, it could even work as a starting point/station for a minecart subway.

Unlike Starter Mines, this place will go deeper, at least by 2 more levels, and should have additional mines. Seeing as there's exposed material on the backside of GM's rock-slant, I could build some scaffolding which could also work as a hunter/sniper post. Too bad I didn't survey the area before I carved the first parts of the GMs. Oh well, I can make do with what I got. I can keep myself supplied with everything thanks to my system I have setup; and surprisingly, the GM location seems relatively safe, for now.

Apparently having a redundant creature entry causes the game to say, "Oh, look, it's crazy world now. Nothing makes sense! Alligators live in houses!"

I haven't seen the 1:1 scale Enterprise before. Ho-ly crap. I do wonder if he had to walk the whole thing when building (no flying around and running faster)? If it was all done with walking and jumping only; major points to the creator. Probably one of the most impressive ultra-projects I've seen done in Minecraft.

I wonder if all the decks would be furnished as well, and not just a shell?

...And I thought my scale model of Lavos was imposing...

EDIT:
If anyone can replicate the entire environment featured in my avatar (or anything rendered in mandelbulber), then they're building gods.

On that note, Itnetlolor, I want your avatar's babies. In all their fractal glory. Seriously, where did you get that?

It was done by creating a layered floorplan in something or other from original concept art of the layout, then exported to minecraft, not built in minecraft. Ars Technica wrote about it.

how can I take good screenshots? by using print screen and paint I get a tiny picture with lots of white space. I can crop and resize it after uploading the image, or just resize it before uploading, but quality drops quickly.
Taking screenshots in fullscreen doesn't help.

If I want reasonably decent quality screens I use the fullscreen button on the menu bar (not f11), hit print screen without holding alt, then crop the image.

I would recommend greenshot though. Opensource screenshot app. It lets you choose the default action on printscreen, like saving to a png file or open the editor of choice with the grab already pasted in.

Does bay12 have their own online server where everyone plays on? I've been looking for a good server for awhile
[Self-promotion]Jaycraft is virtually Bay12's server.
It's not online all the time, but...

There's also PTTG's Planehacked, but I can't comment on it.

I will double check next time you put it up

I can't seem to connect to you
Any error messages or anything?
I received no connections that failed;
Did you have erroneous spaces in the IP box?  Minecraft likes to crash without explanation when you do.
