Spoiler: SO. MUCH. WIN. (click to show/hide)

That isn't even half of the deposit.

... I haven't checked this thread for a while, and the last posted post to be seen when I do contains this. The fucking MOTHERLODE. Is this some custom server generation shenanigans or did the vanilla world generator explode?

90% of tweets with "Dwarf Fortress" in it on Twitter are how about DF is best, worst or like Minecraft, or how awesome it would be if both were merged.

So yeah. Singleplayer still works fine, so I've been meandering around. Was out prospecting for reeds -- I wanna' grow somethin', and my underground tree farm hasn't taken off yet -- when I promptly crashed my boat staring at...

I'm not really sure what to do, here, since I've already started setting up somewhere else. First time I've seen floating islands on a regular map. Quite awesome.

Except...  a single pickaxe takes three diamonds.
Are you making a hoe?

As an aside, Jaycraft today might be a bit slower (latency-wise) then normal, and I won't be around much, but it is up for the next 8 hours or so.

E: Apparently I won't be around at all, as I can't connect to the main server again.  Sigh.

Welp..  I won't be home in ~30 minutes, so I'll just leave the server up and hope that it doesn't need a restart when he gets the main server working.
Addendum:
Jaycraft today probably will be a bit slower (latency-wise) then normal
E: He seems to have the server back up now.
Itnetlolor and myself were able to connect to Jaycraft fine.

For some reason, the game keeps crashing on me while online.

I'll maybe tweak the graphics settings a bit and see if that helps.

EDIT:
I like what's been done to the place. Fun server.

So I got and have been playing the "free weekend" downloaded version. It's kind of fun.

I just found out raw log blocks burn forever and now have a moat of fire.

haha I like the strange fluid physics that can pop up, especially on multiplayer with a bit of lag.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.
