Man, that grass mod is freaking amazing.  Now if only there were a way to update the texture sizes.

Also, is there any way to easily and permanently destroy stuff?  After turning a mountain into a tower, I have more dirt than I could possibly use.  Or permanently store.  And dirt is too ugly to build a monument.

Lots of chests, or just drop it into lava/magma.
Careful not to drop it too close to you though, as occasionally it bounces back up from the lava and you still keep it somehow.

Dig a hole in the wall at floor level, then dig in it once downward.
 There, you have a quantum trash heap and can then throw as much resources as you like into it and forget.

It seems I walked too far away from my cave, and now I can't find it. I was hoping the torches(around my cave) would guide me, but I can't seem to find them. What do you suggest I do? 

I have some valuable stuff on me, including a diamond sword.
