You are correct on both counts, /home does warp you back to the spawn point and /suicide would make you think twice before using it.

I'm talking about the cyborg creepers. Ultra-rare, but they have a hugeass explosion that will kill you on peaceful (changing difficulty won't despawn) through a full diamond set of armor and full health at arrow range, and have twice as much health as you.

Sounds like a challenger has appeared...

I found my first iron ore! 4 pieces, just enough for a pick axe and a shovel. Also, goddamn that zombie sound comes as a shock when you're mining away deep underground, and one spawns nearby.

I wouldn't be too worried over a shovel. Sure you may find pockets of dirt/sand/gravel, but it int worth the iron until you have a surplus.

In my own advice, stick to stone and use the iron for other ores like gold (since stone cant mine gold).

I am concerned with the /home command though, so easily finding your way home defeats a lot of the danger.
Is that a warp back to predetermined location command?
if so it should be changed to /suicide in SMP if you're stuck =D

/suicide = loss of inventory items... /home saves those. XD i like the items i worked on getting

I think that's the point.  :P
If you've mined so deep that you can't find your way out, keeping your items seems like... a reward. If you didn't bother to leave a trail to backtrack out by, why should you keep your loot?

Am I the only one with a crazy new singleplayer bug where you keep getting stuck out of nowhere with your held item flashing back and forth?

The stuttering bug's a fairly old one, but only seems to occur occasionally. I've had it a few times. Just save and reload.

I was building a big glass dome in a snow map. It was half-finished, and then the save just dissapeared.

I am holding in the urge to do a cluster f bomb.

Been having it non-stop on my new map. >.< ... Freaking character gets stuck and disappears from 3rd person view even.

Always place torches on one side of the cave as you dig down. That way you know which way leads back to the surface just by following your lights.

It is freaking irritating, and may be linked to an area of a map, since I had it only one 1 map in 1 place. But that's just me guessing.

Yeah, your best bet is to stay away from the area in question until the issue is fixed by Notch.
For some reason he ends up breaking that anti-hack crap time and time again.

If your character is stuck, Notch has been requesting that you send him the save file so he can repair it (and hopefully figure out why you had that issue in the first place!).

...of course, he may or may not have already left on his little holiday. His last Tweet was 3 hours ago (ironically, asking somebody with the exact same issue to e-mail him a save). He might be asleep, or he might be able to investigate/fix the issue 'on the road', so it might still be worthwhile to send it off.

The character isn't exactly stuck. If I leave/reload I can move again, but it randomly gets stuck while working on something. I haven't tried any of my other saves, only the new one I made today after the update.

Seeing as he's in my timezone, probably not asleep unless he's nocturnal or flying.
