...wow that means the sun is the North Star currently.

And wait a minute...the map is mirrored!  If the sun is north (which it is because I spot the boat dock on my mining rig, which was facing the sun) then east and west are flipped.  I specifically remember the road to the central areas being on my left from my rig.  But in that image it's on the right...
I should have known that would come up.

The world is stored with 0,0 being the NE corner.  (Which, if the map were standardized north = up, would be the top right.)
The map is generated with 0,0 being the top left corner.

East is up, West is down, North is left and South is right.
The sun is most definitely in the east, and the clouds most definitely constantly move north.

Just be glad I didn't upload the isometric version.
That's even more directionally-challenged.
North faces the bottom right.
Huh. Where's my arch? I can't see it at all.
It is actually directly behind my castle, so even if the trees were gone, you still wouldn't be able to see it.
Course, the trees can't be helping -- I can't even see it on the angled one.

And so the rage of the great Lordnincompoop was kindled, and the siege against the cliff-side castle began...

Then why not rotate the map 90 degrees and be done with it?

Also, when will the Jaycraft server be up again? I'm aching for some SMP action!

And I can't complain I guess, since you can see it in the sig. :P

I'll bet you can guess what the purpose is.

Hm, can't spot either of my mines.  Not suprising with the one on the water since it's new, but I should be able to spot my main one easily.

Clearly that means they must be expanded.

Every time I log in I just punch down a tree, make a pickaxe and then go from there.

Last time I was on for example I expanded the caverns under my mine.

Just let inspiration take hold!

You really aren't thinking like a dwarf.

If you think it is down too far, you move it up until it reaches an acceptable elevation.
