I got lost in a cavern for the longest time. I finally gave up and made a giant stairway up.

The entrance to this HUGE cavern was on the surface...

Then someone turned off the computer without saving. Damn.

Perpetual cart motion--
Build a 2 radius circle of track (a 3x3 square with the middle gone) and another railway next to it, that goes somewhere you want to go.
Put 5 (yes, five) carts on the circle.
They should start spinning madly.
If they're spinning so that they go around the side with the railway in the direction that you would need to go, plop a cart down on that rail and get in the path of the spinnycarts.
You will keep going along that rail until you hit something.

If they don't spin the way you want, stand in front of them until they turn around.
You might (read: probably will) kick a few off the rails, but as long as the remaining continue spinning, it'll still work.

If you come into this system backwards, all the carts involved get stuck, so use multiple rails or a fancy redstone trackswitch to avoid running into it.

Seems like it acquires infinite (More like maxed) energy potential from that setting.

It's a cool glitch, careful though as it caused some interesting bugs for me and others on the minecraft forums. Too many minecarts occupying the same space seems to be the cause of the problems. Once I had all the minecarts flashing between semitransparent and completely transparent, couldn't interact with them at all.

I did find it a bit annoying how much faster than powered carts this got me from my spawn point and main base to the pit mine I'm digging. I'd still like booster tracks to be implemented.

Yep.
That's what happens when you go into it backwards.

Exactly what I was thinking. Ah, childhood, and how much I abused my toys during it.

I had a jump that went over a lit candle, it melted the track though.

Toony you have won Hot Wheels forever. You are the champion. Now all that can be done is to make an homage to your great triumph in Minecraft.

My wood cabin has turned into a wood castle, I just need to make it bigger now.

When this goes multiplayer Bay12 should stick to all of one world, probably jaybud's.

Eh, I'm more in favor of a brand new world myself.  Everyone should be hitting it with the same level of mystery.  Having a bunch of premade towns is kinda stifling.

That said, we should definitely law down some ground rules about architecture and stuff.  The Creative servers that hopelessly try to build unified towns and stuff turn to ridiculous piles of crap, and now we're playing for keeps.  Sorta.

I had a jump that went over a lit candle, it melted the track though.

Toony be nimble, Toony be quick, Toony got unreal air over the candlestick.

The Bay12 server planning department?

All plans to be submitted in hardcopy format 3 weeks prior to start on site - brutalist architecture welcome.

My server will be mainly unrestricted, but we will have several admins who will kick and ban troublemakers- specifically griefers. Fair combat will be allowed, of course.
