Thank you Calhoun.
Saint sees no options in downloaded cartograph to show only specific blocks.

Put the Block ID in that box (48 for mossy cobblestone if memory serves)

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

I havn't found a single one, I traveled exactly onto one of it's areas and dug straight down *first time I hit a magma sea and died*
The second one I went after I hit the bottom the the map and a giant cave with nothing in it.

Are you sure the two maps are lining up? Gen them at the same time, and be sure where you are on the surface.

I have learned from my last hour and a half of using Cartographer to try to cheat my way to a dungeon that I am an absolutely terrible navigator.  I mean, I knew that already, but this really put it home when I apparently can't even line up straight tunnels.  To be fair, judging depth/elevation is really hard.

Simple counting is all it takes. Its not too hard, I managed to line up a shaft that I was digging from two places to meet in the middle accurately. Imagine it as a XY graph, 0,0 is where you stand now, and use north as Y, east as X, south as Y negative and west as X negative. Then start adding and removing tiles as you move along.
