I wish he'd ad some "engaging" music at some point, or some creepy music. Or maybe even some region-based music (wait, I think I read that somewhere on his blog.. maybe)

That's in it.
Ohh god the horrors.

Monsters and Caves have sounds now.

And I swear, minecraft is the scariest game ever..

Just spelunking alone is enough to get me on edge, but suddenly "RAWR" AHH! IT'S A ZOMBIE! @_@
And yes...

Yeah I've noticed the occasional moans and eerie chimes coming from down in the ground, even when I'm exploring the surface I'll hear them coming from ominous looking mountains. They're REALLY good sound effects, they're just perfectly creepy and right for this game.

But I meant music in specific, is there any in the game at the moment?

I don't think it is, at least, I don't get any actual music. Though It is pretty scary spelunkin'. I just play some chip-tunes, works out well enough.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

I like to listen to videogame music while playing too. Yesterday it was this Super Castlevania IV playlist. Great for exploring and hunting monsters.

So, I managed to build a monster drowning machine. I usually capture zombies and skeletons in it, but creepers and spiders still escape. So I will build special counter measures for those.

Meanwhile, I put a waterfall on the top of my skyscraper that leads to my crafting/store room. Plus put a waterfall in my mine to use was a quick ride down. The problem is that the thing is so huge (100+ tiles) that the boat shatters into pieces when you reach the bottom. So I can't really use it with a boat, but it's a neat way to go down.

If you put a couple of layers of springs you could probably avoid the shattering.

Looks good though.

Holy cow Soulwynd, that looks impressive. Then again, everything everyone builds looks impressive to me. When I finish raping a cavern system of its resources I usually end up trying to build a "castle", but I lose interest after it's a square assembly of cobblestones..

I really need some imagination help.

Well, You can use this Circle chart to help you avoid the square feeling: http://i50.tinypic.com/2lj71c7.png

Yeah, once I begin opening my mine shaft on the bottom, I want to give it a church feeling with round tops. I'm considering building a stair to go back up instead of having to jump like crazy.

Also, mining all the way down like that filled up two large chests of stone and still had enough for me to build up a skyscraper that touches the clouds.

Just use stair blocks on your pre-existing structure.

I could do that, but I kind of don't like that structure. It was just so I could actually mine.

Ah, Okay. It's your building, do what you like. Just wasn't sure if your realized that was a possibility.

Yeah. From what I understand, it also takes way more stone to make those stairs. 6 stones for each block. I kind of like the regular half-steps better for that reason, but they do make longer stairs.

I have a huge forest, so wood isn't exactly a problem. I think I can build enough up stairs... Just afraid of falling down haha. Last time I fell from half way, I almost died, lost 8 hearts, I think.
