It's all or nothing with the mobs, sorry!

Skeletons are not hard. Just strafe all the time and they can't hit you beyond four meters away. Then duck in to hit them between the shots and back off. Entirely easy to avoid damage.

I was like... okay... dig down down down... Oh fuck... it's a hole... to the SKY!

How did you manage that? Usually digging through the bottom of the world requires searching through the adminium floor until you fins a small mineable hole.

Yeah, if you see bedrock, you should already know that you're as deep as you need to go.

It's my luck... I was digging stairs down and I saw some bedrock next to me but didn't care and dug the stone right under me to continue the stairs and see if there was something under it... well... the end of the world was under it.

And I had just found an iron vein and some red stone vein.

But after I restarted I got lucky as hell, found a place with both magma and waterfall.  Kind of short on iron, but stone swords are doing good even on normal. I'm also building a skyscraper made out of stone and glass windows. >.>

Any way to move the water spawn tile? After the sky scraper is done, I'd love to have a waterfall on the top.

And since I have infinite magma (I think) I might use it as light inside my skyscraper. Place a layer of glass, a layer of magma, and another layer of glass. It would look awesome.

To make a water spring, you make 2 squares of water (from buckets) flow into the same space at once. Not sure what a spring does differently from just a poured bucket though..

A poured bucket IS a spring. But if two springs are adjacent to the same tile then it also becomes a spring, giving you infinite water.

Wow... I just took another look at the wiki's crafting page... the new update added apples and golden apples. Golden apples require 8 gold blocks to make. That's 71 gold bars!

Quote from: Minecraft Wiki
They can be crafted from a regular Apple and 8 Gold Ingots surrounding it. There is no way to get red apples except for generated chests in dungeons. Gold apples can also be found the same way.

I thought apples grew in trees, not chests.

Quote
Minecraft Alpha 1.0.6_01
* Fixed stuttering after death bug
* Leaves decay again when not connected to either the ground or to a tree trunk
* Tweaked monster and animal spawning a bit. The game probably is quite a bit more difficult now.
* Boats can be placed on land, and won’t break if you hit land unless you’re going above a certain speed
* Boats spawn water splash particles only when going fast enough to break
* Boats turn much nicer

So that's good!

Toonyman, you can only get apples from chests in the dungeons.

So... There was this creeper on top of a mountain near my castle and I lured him to a sand spot near the lava... I made him explode thinking I would get quite a lot of sand to play with later... Except... Under that nice sand spot... There was a huge cave... an -epic huge- cave... The creeper explosion triggered gravity just like some old cartoon and so he pretty much destroyed the entire dune. It was awesome to watch it all fall down into the cave.

Something very similar just happened to me, only, I feel down a loooooong shaft in the cave system. I arrived at the bottom dead.

Oh well
