100% natural. I was exploring, and I saw this in the distance, so I mosey'd on over to take a look.
Nice find!

Quote from: Notchblog
...there were massive performance issues caused by the synchronous networking I implemented, added to lots of overhead from packet resending and sorting.
I’m currently considering my options, I can either keep poking away at UDP, making it asynchronous and trying to eliminate the overhead, or I can fall back to good old java 1.1 type tcp/ip.

Yeah, I had a feeling turning this game into a multiplayer system would be a lot more complicated that the basic Creative mode multiplayer.  I wonder how long this will set things back.

Good to know how the distribution works though.  Client games are run on single servers.  On the plus side, that means memory hacking is a lot less likely, since it's just one person in charge of the real data.  On the other hand, getting someone to host a dedicated server, as we have seen, is a Sisyphean task fraught with world-ending danger.  Maybe Notch will use some of that €270000 to buy some damn server space and get professional with this.

No, it won't.

The snow stops falling, but ice and snow remains until you get rid of it manually.

Zuriki had a picture where half of the map was snowed and the other wasn't, which she achieved by toggling snow off.

Because those were newly generated chunks.

The old snow remains until you remove it manually.

From what I remember of that image he posted, it seemed more than turning snow off and moving to a new area gens green areas. As Jay said, but I just wanted to clear up the gender confusion.

Because I have no mercy for the Tradanbattlan trap.

Anyways, has anyone found the snow maps as laggy as I have? It's really getting on my nerves.

Update!
Snowballs are fun. Snow blocks are kind of cool, but best of all, snow no longer falls through glass!

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

Wait... rain?  What?

Do you mean that bug thing where every water tile would suddenly start doing that splash effect, or was there actually rainy weather at one point?
