That is such an awesome unintended-context line.  And they're dwarves, who as we all know, are crazy.  I wouldn't be surprised if sitting on stone chairs all the time is part of what makes them snap in the end.

Actually, since chairs are one-half of a dining room... we can safely conclude that a horribly-uncomfortable stone chair is such a positive note in a dwarf's life, that it's one of the few things that helps keep him sane. (To be fair, it's called a throne - maybe the name helps.)

In semi-related news, I started a new map. Genned a snow map first time: good. Started on an island with no visible caves: bad. Started a shaft mine to find coal: good. Found iron ore: good. Found gold: good. Found redstone: good. Two days later, found a coal deposit right on top of the world-sealing Adminium: bad.

And though I didn't find any caverns, I was seriously startled by some... strange noises. Mobs have special sound effects now, I take it? If so, there's a 'fun' cavern somewhere near by...

Well, when it comes down to it, wood, metal, and plastic aren't particularly "soft" in the context of a chair. I'm sure properly shaped stone would be no less comfortable than wood.

Walk barefoot on a hardwood floor, then walk barefoot on a concrete or tile floor.  You can feel the difference, especially over time.  Dwarves of course just don't care until the accumulated stress pushes them over the edge, but I'd like to have some upholstery.  Just because it looks nicer.

Yes, but we're talking about sitting. I sit on bricks and concrete all the time, certainly more than on wooden chairs, if not as often as metal chairs. The only part that's less comfortable is there's no back to a curb or wall, though neither are as comfortable as a nice leather chair, like I'm sitting in right now.

A proper stone chair might even be more comfortable than a wooden one, because those tend to wear so that the legs and supports aren't tightly connected, so they wobble around annoyingly.

An ergonomically desined *Granite Throne* would be much more comfortable than a straight-backed -Wooden chair-. Indeed, you speak some truth.

Pig + saddle + ice = LOLZ.
Also, INCREDIBLY large map of the map I used for the TNT video.
Look at that crater!

How did you get that bird's eye view? That looks sooo useful. Maybe if I could do that to my earlier world, I'd be able to find my way back to my floating island (I died and got lost... >.>;)

There are ambient cave sounds, but Mobs also have new noises too. Also, It's not as bad as finding a diamon vein right above a layer of lava. I could only save half!

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

I once found a cave with a creeper stuck just past a thin wall. That place sounded CREEPY.
