EDIT: Winter in July

Your map either has it or doesn't. So keep genning to find it. Alternatively you can change snowcovered to 1 in level.dat.

Not just snow, the water freezes over and is slippery. This explains the walking in snow SFX found in last weeks update.

edit to add: It might get in the way when building but I think I'll be playing with it turned on for the foreseeable future:

I hopped on my computer, went to the tumblr, and found a secret update waiting for me. I genned a new world, and cue infatuation. I also like the sexy way the Minecraft falls onto the menu :D

What do I open level.dat with? Notepad++ doesn't seem to read it right.
