I keep thinking it refers to Stable Modding Platform (Jagged Alliance 2 project) even though it is highly out of context.

In other news ... I built myself a nice minetrack down to the 'coal face' of my mining operations, then thought I wasn't getting vertically down quick enough. So I started building vertical shafts with ladders in them. Near the magma. And I was in the shaft when I was digging it. And I promptly got immolated by a magma leak. With just about my whole inventory.

Gah.

He asked because you guys said SMP. That's the name of the goon discovered the high-res stuff and made that texture pack if I recall correctly. Coincidentally, that's also the acronym for Survival Multiplayer.
Half-right.
But yes, SMP is a person, not Survival Multiplayer.
He had that name before Minecraft even existed.

And yeah, when Survival MP is released, there will be massive numbers of SOMEBODY HOST! posts.
And then there will be people who are actually hosting...
And probably a bunch of new threads about other people making servers...
But mostly, the official forums will be filled with "OMGNOTCHILOVEYOU!!" or whining because something isn't exactly how they wanted it to turn out.
...I hate those forums.

That

What's worse is that people there already think they know exactly how it will be, I've seen numerous people state thing about SMP that have not been confirmed at all, as facts.

It pisses me off.

I know it's unrealistic, but I can't help but imagine little bearded babies for dwarves. In my mind, they come out of the womb fully bearded. That's how the mother carries them around, too, she just drags them around by the beard or ties it to her belt. When the father's on duty, he just ties their beards together and the baby just kind of hangs there, swinging to and fro with Urist McDaddy's movements.

Hint: it'll be me.

Haha.
Some guy did the math and says that 64 players in non-overlapping areas will take up 500 MB of RAM on the server.
I can't comment on the validity of that, but if it's true, I will have absolutely no problem hosting a Bay12 infinite map server.
