I have a suggestion.
Just buy it.

Not much longer now, I expect.
ey, some of us don't have mum's funds to drain every damn time we want to try something.
Some of us have to work. (Example would be me)
I work just as hard for my money as anybody else.
Don't make assumptions.
It's only $12.something with the current Euro rate, etc.

No, I think it is just a texture pack because you can see the block he is holding in his right hand.

Yes, it is, in fact, an ingame screencap of Minecraft.
You can see the ugly cut in the water due to the strange flows, in addition to the held block.
Also, the half-blocks that are -still- modeled after the smooth stone, despite being used on cobblestone in this instance.
That is SMP's as-yet-unreleased 2Realistic pack, which is, as it implies, just about too realistic.

Part of the problem for me is the fact that I'm a broke college student.  Most of it is the inability to make online purchases.  Damn cardholder services decided it was okay to cancel my credit card for no reason.  Or rather, they gave two reason that were both bull according to my credit reports.  I've been following the gave since Notch's first release and it's gone from really interesting to rather amazing.

HUnGRYCAT REQUESTS LINKING.
That is SMP's as-yet-unreleased 2Realistic pack, which is, as it implies, just about too realistic.
I suspect it uses a spritesheet larger than 512x512.
That would mean it requires a small edit to the class files, at least until Notch presumably makes the change himself when he properly sets us up with custom texture support.

I'll keep a lookout and post about it if he does end up releasing "2Realistic", provided somebody else hasn't before me.
In the meantime, more sauce.

He reverted the torches to the default for this shot.
E: And the half-blocks.

Well, there's no thread on the MC forums because it's unreleased.
I guess I assumed people would understand that that was implied.
Oh well.

Notch vs Toady in a coding-off?

I would pay to see it.
I'm afraid of the consequences of that happening. :<

Honestly, I think Toady would get caught up in trying to perform mental arithmetic to determine the optimum weapon, with the correct structural variables to inflict the desired type of damage on Notch. While he was busy doing that, Notch would just be wailing on him with the nearest thing to him at the time; a clod of dirt, a branch, or a suspiciously cube-like rock.

That, or in a slightly more cool universe, they would meet on the field of battle, like two great Kings from a bygone era. Their various fans would be arrayed behind them like monolithic armies. They would discuss things civilly, perhaps over a nice cool beverage, before suggesting they settle this in the ancient ways of their fathers. They'd then each summon forth the mightiest warrior from their armies, and have them fight to the death for the glory of their King, with victory and defeat resting on the outcome of this one great battle.

But what of the fans that are fans of both?

Also, uh, why would they fight in the first place?

OF course, we have /tg/ on our side most likely, as well as a good chunk of xkcders and Something Awful. Remember, this is the group of people that donated ten grand in a month.
