You have to play Indev or Infdev to see the coolest features, which are available after you purchase it. You destroy raw resource tiles, like wood logs, stone, ore, etc... and process them into components using a Crafting table: Wood makes poles, bowls, signs, doors, chests, etc. You combine materials at a crafting table, or transform them in a Furnace (all built from raw materials) and aquire new materials like glass or iron.

Time passes, and as day changes to night, the fauna become hostile. You basically have to hole up somewhere safe, produce your own light to see, and defend yourself against enemies until daybreak comes again. It's actually pretty well-done.

Hehe, Solifuge that skin is pretty neat.
I might be so inclined to take some skin commissions if anyone has something sufficiently awesome in mind.

Hmm... how about Link? Though the hat might be hard to get right...

I can manage the hat... but are we talking first-generation Link with his heroic brown sideburns and big nose, or pretty-boy Twilight Princess Link?

I was thinking of Link from Ocarina of Time.

Ahem.

Various classes of dwarf.

IE; Mechanic, Noble, Miner, Fisherdwarf.

Don't forget the smiley face on the hat.

Three-Panel-Soul style? The face on the hat might be tough at MC resolution, but I can give it a shot. Problem is, the proportions are a bit off for dwarves, and there is insufficient room on the face to fit a good Beard in there. It will require a good deal of creativity.

Yeah, I guess the face could be hard... but I think the beard can be done, possibly by continuing it onto the torso.

New Infdev update making things look sexy as hell, and caves return with a vengeance.

Leaf transparency is a little messed up, but whatever. We have cool liquids now.

Yay new update! Also, the comments are a hillarious reminder of how tardtastic the MC forumites can be.

Send that guy to Ethiopia. If he already is, sell his computer for some proper provisions.

I can't really believe that's serious. I mean really, that's just too ridiculous. It's like an old man ranting about "the good old days" and "In my day we walked 5 miles to school uphill, both ways!" Just an over-exaggerated joke.

Of course, I don't deny the forums stink, and it's perfectly possible that the idiot is perfectly serious, but I just suspect that's a bad troll.

The new water is definitely the best water system he's had, but it still leaves something to be desired.

For one thing, canals should work much better than they do.

I like the flowing water and the water levels, though. It's just too jelly-like to really feel watery.

I'm confident Notch will come up with something with a bit more, for want of a better word, realism.

I'm really looking forward to exploring these new caves. Maybe make a channel of water leading endlessly downhill so I can dam it up at my campsite and then, if I respawn at the surface, simply hop into the stream and flow back to where I was.

Or maybe a log flume...

What we need is a Bin block that sucks in any inventory objects that land near it. Then automated goods transport could be done.
