Nope, just very very large, so it takes quite a while to load.
Regional terraforming i think is a neccessary evil since i don't think it can be done on a large scale realistically without some problems cropping up in gameplay and and game engine (especially with Java in mind).
So if it does get done this sort of breaking up of gameplay would present more smaller challenges instead of a few very large ones that would most likely get boring after a while (building and mining the same stuff over and over and over again) while a larger number of smaller tasks that can be done at one's own leisure (and if done in a varying number of ways) would i think offer a bit more dynamic and fun gameplay

Broken picture?
Depends on your browser. Some won't open an image that big.
Firefox 3.6 ... and I right clicked to save it.  Still didn't open locally.

Edit: ah... wasn't opening in the simple picture viewer either.  Had to load up Photoshop (which I rarely do... waste of company money if you ask me!)

Pistons. Pretty sweet. MCmodShowcase on YouTube has a bunch of video demonstrations as well, including PlasmaCraft (!), Mo Creatures, and Pistons.

I knew it.  I always fucking knew it.  I knew the block-gravity mechanics could be extended to moving blocks in other directions.  Holy shit, this might actually be the biggest development in modding since flight.  Just think of all the possibilities implied in the ability to move blocks around on command.

I wish he had demonstrated tossing blocks besides sand, I bet others just hang in the air.  For that matter, it certainly as an overpowered-ness aspect if you can set a piston against the side of a mountain and shove that row of blocks all the way out the other side.

The OP part of it is putting a piston to the ground and pushing all the blocks below you into Lava.  (At least I assume that lava works like water and makes way...)

Except it only works on a maximum of 16 blocks.

Ah, okay, that certainly puts it in perspective.  I take it it's limited by chunk-length or something, or the modder made it 16 so it can't do anything weird.  Okay, I think I'll have to experiment with this one myself.  Certainly the Industrial and Steampunk type mods would be a lot more enjoyable with actual machinery moving around.

The MCmodShowcase part 2 has some other fun stuff. For one thing, launching TNT.

You and your puny little... IndustrialCrap nukes...

That...actually creates a blast crater almost EXACTLY like the industrial craft nukes.  In the first test I think I even see some blast lines cut into the dirt like the industrial craft nuke, and the odd little + shapes directly under the blast.  And it also appears lethal at about the same range.  And it's also about the same average size I got from my tests.  Though you only get a good look at the crater on the first one.  I wouldn't call it 'better' so much as an alternative.  Getting enough gunpowder for all that TNT is probably harder than finding a couple blocks of uranium though if not so much the resources to process uranium.

Never tried encasing myself in obsidian to protect from an industrialcraft nuke though.  Probably won't work since the IC nukes seem able to bust obsidian though.

The odd pattern is caused by explosion rays. If you're behind any cover the damage from explosions is reduced to half a heart. You can safely view any single explosion from behind a plain glass wall.

Minecraft physics are weird.

*sigh*

I know I should try harder, but I can't make myself do more than I already have to get mods working in minecraft. I see the awesomeness, but feel more inclined to just wait for the modding API and the nice little in game menu that seems to be already in place rather than having to edit my .jar files

Also, from that video, I wouldn't be entirely sure that that is vanilla obsidian. He places it and then breaks it down with one hit.

Man, this IndustrialCraft is awesome, I'm building my first big solar array to send power via HV transformers to nearby mines (combing a desert 5x5 tiles at a time ;))
