I see, that tells me a lot actually. I can wire them centrally, and have a main power conduit going towards my chargers.

Can I have the 'Solar Flower' outside, wire the MFE to another MFE, which is then wired up to multiple chargers?

I think what Jay said earlier was that As long as they go in a staircase, you can make a supermassive blackhole of MFEs to store charge. You put a red torch next to them, so they only release when fully charged, and you can get any amount of chargers hooked up, so long as you are careful where you put the branches.

 Blerg, making statues that fit in 5x5 and 7x7 footprints is difficult. I can make a decent statue, but I'm suddenly asked to make a bigger one for a more important figure and I have no clue how to make it look good.

Yeah. Apparently it is new in the most recent beta (1.3_01 or whatever). Wood + fuel (wiki recommended wooden planks) in stone furnace = charcoal, functionally identical to mined coal, except they don't stack between each other.

I find plenty of copper. The easiest thing lately, instead of making a tunnel and strip mining, is to find a natural cave or dungeon. Bring plenty of picks and torches, and clean the place out of easy to find ore. Strip mine it later if need be.

My problem at the time was I just couldn't find any caves. I am having better luck with my new world (playing ironman style: one death = delete world), seeded with urist. Nearby cave with lots of exposed minerals, very deep. A lot of the veins even lead into veins of other minerals, which lead back into yet more minerals.

I turned on peaceful until I can get a good chunk of my project underway. I am going to place out my solar collectors, and start on the entrance tunnel. After that, decorate it.

I am currently attempting to grow grass. I learned that for grass to grow, it must be within a certain range of other grass. My project is WAY up in the air, so I had to build a stair stack of dirt block, so it will grow up that, and onto my platform. Takes FOREVER for it to grow on dirt blocks.

Just did my reading-up. You can't go any more than a 3 iteration, both because of current caps, and because of the fact you lose power when cables go 7 long without a MFE in the middle.

(Yes, virtually my entire existence on this map was erased by my main facility [in the distance, where the obsidian roof is still standing] failing in dramatic fashion)
